About the Author

Niall Doherty

Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.

I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.

Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.

I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.

All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.

The Best Affiliate Marketing Course?

We’re on a mission to find the best affiliate marketing course, based on our own extensive research plus feedback from real students.

Unfortunately, Launch You doesn’t come close to topping our list of the best courses…

🏆 Best Affiliate Marketing Courses 🏆

How does Launch You help you make money?

The courses on the Launch You platform help you make money via “Authority Marketing”. This seems to be their alternate name for affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing – or “authority marketing” as Stuart calls it – is when you promote other people’s products or services and collect a commission for every successful referral.

Here’s the definition they give for it on one of the Launch You sales pages…

Authority Marketing is a cutting-edge strategy enabling you to join the modern wealthy and make more money in less time, by working smarter not harder. It’s about embracing today’s digital world by leveraging the power of online marketing systems to automate selling any product or service to any target audience anywhere in the world.

(Calling this kind of thing “cutting-edge” is a BIG stretch, if you ask me. It’s almost as old as the internet.)

Best I can tell, Launch You consists of the following three courses…

  • Modern Wealthy
  • LaunchPad
  • Accelerate

In this review, I’ll mainly be focusing on Modern Wealthy. I consider that to be a “tripwire product” for Launch You; essentially an inexpensive product designed to get you into a sales funnel so you will spend more later.

Who is Launch You for?

My impression is that Launch You is intended to be for everyone.

Claims such as the following on the sales page strongly suggest this…

launch you review who we serve section

I find this kind of marketing to be so vague as to be worthless.

Similarly, Launch You’s marketing material tells you very little about what kind of business you’ll actually be building, instead just constantly referring to it as “your dream business.”

Given all that, I’d say Launch You is really aimed at people who want to build an online business but have no idea what that would look like, and are happy enough to sign up for a course that doesn’t provide any details in advance.

Does Stuart Ross have a good reputation?

Not really, no.

For starters, I found Stuart’s previous course, Six Figure Mentors, to be a thinly veiled Multi-Level Marketing scheme.

I consider Stuart to be somewhat notorious due to his MLM endeavors, which I detailed in my Six Figure Mentors review.

Unfortunately, as with SFM, it looks like the most reliable way to “succeed” with Launch You is to get other people to join behind you.

My impression is that Launch You is little more than a repackaged version of Six Figure Mentors: similar marketing, teaching pretty much the same thing, with familiar upsells to similarly priced offerings.

It seems the main purpose of the Modern Wealthy program is to get you into a sales funnel so you can be pitched those (more expensive) upsells.

Stuart Ross himself has quite a big following on Facebook. The Facebook group for Modern Wealthy has around 2500 members, but it mainly seems to consist of new members saying hi to each other.

Are Launch You students getting results?

Not that I can see.

During my research of Modern Wealthy and Launch You, I only found a few testimonials reporting any significant results from having followed the training.

The sales page for Launch You only features three video testimonials, all of which I found vague and unconvincing. Just like the training’s sales page, these don’t seem to mention any specifics.

It gets a bit better with Modern Wealthy, mainly because of the following testimonial…

launch you review student results

However, I found the exact same testimonial on the sales page for Accelerate, a more powerful (and expensive) part of Launch You…

launch you review student testimonials

If Matt Cooke is actually a student of Accelerate, then he would have spent $1000’s on Launch You, so I find it misleading to have his success story displayed on the sales page for the $37 Modern Wealthy training.

Regardless, given that at least 2,500 people have apparently signed up to Modern Wealthy – that’s the size of the members-only Facebook group – I would have expected to see far more success stories during my research.

Sadly, such reports seem to be rare. So rare that it leads me to believe the vast majority of people who sign up for Modern Wealthy don’t achieve any significant results.

How much does Modern Wealthy cost?

The listed price for Modern Wealthy is $37.

There are reports of multiple upsells within the training, but I’ve only been able to verify two of them.

The first upsell is LaunchPad. That costs $997 if you pay all at once. But you can also pay $197 up front followed by eleven monthly installments of $99 (total price = $1,286)

Accelerate, the other main upsell, doesn’t have a listed price as far as I can see. To find out the details, they require you to sign up for a “free vision call”.

That said, I have seen unverified reports online that Accelerate costs a minimum of $3,995. I’ve also seen reports that there are several other products and upsells within Launch You, including one reported to cost as much as $17,990 😱

Keep in mind that you’ll need extra cash not just for the upsells, but also for paid ads and an autoresponder.

Launch You Discount?

I’ve tried finding a discount or coupon, but there’s none available.

Seems full price is the only option.

Refund Policy

The sales page for Modern Wealthy specifies a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund policy…

We 100% Guarantee you’ll love this training and the bonus courses, or we’ll return your $37 investment even if you watch the whole thing and take the full 30 days to do it. You don’t have to explain anything.

Just let us know it wasn’t for you, and we’ll return your $37 investment with no questions asked, and we will even let you keep access to the course. Does that sound fair?

Just keep in mind that it says you’ll have to watch all the videos beforehand.

I haven’t seen anyone reporting issues getting a refund on their purchase, so you can rest easy with this guarantee. Stuart Ross does seem to honor his refund policy for Six Figure Mentors, so my guess is that he does the same for Launch You.

How is Modern Wealthy structured?

Here’s what the course looks like after you’re logged in and you open the videos…

launch you review training program page

Unfortunately, the seven lessons you see pictured above seem to make up the majority of what Modern Wealthy has to offer.

Most of them are over 30 minutes long, and filled with Stuart Ross talking about (in my opinion) fairly basic affiliate marketing stuff.

These videos are preceded by an ebook, but I wouldn’t say that provides significant value either.

The videos might have been fine if they were free and more concise. I’ve seen plenty of videos that drag on, but for me Modern Wealthy takes the cake.

You also get two short bonus courses with MW, one focused on affiliate marketing, and the other on ecommerce.

As soon as you’re done with the seven core videos, it’ll take you to the LaunchPad upsell page. I can’t comment on the quality of the LaunchPad training, but given all I’ve seen from Stuart Ross so far, I’d be inclined to steer clear of it.

Green Lights 🟢

A few things to like about Launch You’s Modern Wealthy program…

  • Reasonable price.
  • 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

Red Flags 🚩

A few things to be wary of regarding Modern Wealthy…

  • Lack of significant success stories from students.
  • Expensive upsells.
  • Seems to lack any advanced info.
  • Some big skeletons in Stuart Ross’ closet.
  • No search function within the training.
  • No mention on sales page of expenses beyond the price of the training.
  • Numerous questionable marketing tactics (eg. fake scarcity) used to sell the course.

Other things you should know

  • I generally recommend that you steer clear of any course where the sales page doesn’t clearly explain what you’ll be doing. IMO, this is one of the bigger issues with Launch You as a whole. They seem to specialize in “selling the dream” while failing to provide any specifics.

Should you join Launch You?

I cannot in good conscience recommend Launch You or Modern Wealthy as a reliable way to make money online.

MW seems to lack any advanced info, and I didn’t find a single legit testimonial for it. I’d venture to say that the vast majority of its students have not achieved any significant results.

Add in the questionable marketing tactics and Stuart Ross’ reputation, and I can only advise that people steer far clear of Modern Wealthy. I believe it is extremely unlikely to help you build your “dream business.”

As far as affiliate marketing programs go, this lands near the bottom of my list.

Maybe good, if you're looking to move from a well-paying job in Europe

After stumbling upon an “introductory video” link on YouTube by Mitch Webber, my inbox became inundated with weekly, bi-weekly, and even daily emails urging me to take action.

Being unemployed, I eventually caved about two weeks ago and watched the videos outlining the process, promising a life transformation for a mere $37.

Skeptical but hopeful, I followed through, hoping to quiet the nagging doubt that this was just another scheme to profit off others.

So, I paid the $37 and eagerly began the course, only to be swiftly redirected to the Launchpad page.

Here, the costs skyrocketed exponentially with an exchange rate of around ZAR 20/ $US 1, making it prohibitively expensive for a mere possibility.

As I soon discovered, there was yet another upsell lurking, demanding thousands of dollars!

Sure, if you’re coming from a cushy high-paying job in the UK and dreaming of relocating to a picturesque hillside in Portugal or Spain, this might seem like the perfect solution.

But for those of us struggling to make ends meet while unemployed, this is far from a viable income replacement option.

Pros and Cons

  • The people in the videos seem really genuine and are not fast talking salesmen.
  • The support, so far, has been good and they're constantly following up on you.
  • The presentations are easy to understand without too many insider buzzwords.
  • There's a need to show the same "ambassadors" in every single video with the same stories on how successful they've become.
  • I have noticed that the affiliate income, seems to come from selling the course to others, very MLM like.
  • The costs in setting up an "autopilot business" are never discussed, but used as a hook. There's no such thing, you've got to work it!

Very deceitful with their intentions

A very deceitful affiliate marketing program.

Initially, the introduction material leads you to think the company will guide you through a genuine internet marketing program. No, their intentions are for you to re-sell the initial marketing material.

So basically selling a scam program to deceive other internet users. There is no value gained other than understanding that internet affiliate marketing is mostly a scam and Launch You are fraudsters.

They will use any thread of excuse to not refund any of the money paid out even if the training was not undertaken.

They also use recurring card payments which are harder for you to stop because you are relying on Launch You to stop them.

Do not go near anything to do with Launch You.

Pros and Cons

Don’t get sucked in like I did

The presentation is very slick and clever. However, there is very little value received after hours and hours spent on weekly calls, so-called training, etc.

It is all about upselling and selling the course to other unfortunate buyers.

After months of being in the course, you never get to the core of things.

Then they launch a new program that costs more money with the promise that this is the answer to all – only to find that the facts and how-to’s are still just out of reach.

If you are looking to get into online marketing, please don’t waste your hard-earned money and time on this course.

After a while, you realize there are so-called success stories that just don’t add up. Weekly calls to action are just fluff to get you to believe it’ll pan out and you’ll have a ‘eureka’ moment.

I feel conned and misled. I fell for it and wasted £12,000+ for over two years.

Pros and Cons

  • Slick presentation.
  • Never get to the core of how become a digital marketer.
  • Very high price.
  • Always upselling to members.

Don't expect too much

2020 – I went into this with great expectations and full of gusto, but quickly found that it was challenging, especially being international.

I was constantly looking for support and not really finding it. I hate the idea that you’re expected to seek support from within the ‘communities’ rather than reaching out for professional help. That wasn’t really all that helpful either to be honest. I felt like a loser for even asking. And the communities are full of other people struggling to make sense of how to make even one sale.

You have to really put yourself out there. Videos of yourself talking about how you now have an online business, who you are, etc., are so not me. That’s when I started to tap out. That’s not living my best life, that’s for sure. Which is what they bang on about constantly. Living your best life. Make money while you sleep in that 24/7 island resort.

2021 – I ended up starting a bricks and mortar business before I wasted any more money. No regrets.

Follow your passion in life, but be smart about it. There’s no easy ride. Thinking that you can start something you have no clue about and don’t know if you are going to like it is a waste of time and money.

Pros and Cons

  • A lot of lesson modules.
  • Some helpful online information for business owners.
  • It's fun building your own website (when you are in lockdown and have 4 weeks with nothing much else to do).
  • Made NO money.
  • Endless webinars on how successful people are, but not explaining how they got successful and how you can do it too.
  • The more you learn, the more you pay, and the more confusing and frustrating it gets.

Launch You was the solution I needed. I can say it saved my life....

I found Launch You when I was stuck at home during COVID-19. We had just started a guest house with a cafe/restaurant, and suddenly everything closed. We were in Portugal, and I could not speak Portuguese at that stage.

I came across The LaunchPad training and started the learning. I now have three sites – all of them are earning us an income. I plan to start and run one more. Then, my wife and I will be able to retire and travel while living off my income from the three sites.

Everything you need to build a business online, all in one place, is there with LaunchPad. You even get advice, a website address, and full access to WordPress. This training costs $999 (or can be acquired on lower monthly payments), and the access is valid for a year.

We are talking strategy and the actual tools to implement Authority Marketing with all the advanced help and technology required. On top of this, there is an opportunity to upgrade and get one-on-one training, group training, or get someone to do parts for you.

Modern Wealthy was great as a ‘sample’ or ‘map’ to see what is involved. To get my three sites up and running, I had to commit to learning the skills needed – and focusing to establish this new way of life.

I am not rich, but I have paid off my mortgage, and we are building up a decent savings set-up. We are planning a 3-week tour of Japan, something Vicki has always wanted to do. So, things are looking great, and we are once again excited about the future.

Pros and Cons

  • Straightforward modules. If you follow them carefully, you will end up with a site.
  • All the associated training that you can do in areas where you need help.
  • The affiliate program - it helps you get started without having to have your own product from the start.
  • Sometimes there is too much information. It takes a while to work out what to do with it.
  • The help desk is open Mon to Fri from 9-5. It can be a problem if you are trying to work on the weekends.

Fair Chance

My initial contact with an affiliate marketer and subsequently Stuart Ross himself, and their natural and honest way of presenting the deal, caught my attention.

However, during registration for the Modern Wealthy program, I realized that the hard-core marketing only featured them to get you to invest in more expensive material that seemingly guaranteed success.

I stuck to my initial testing of the waters by registering for Modern Wealthy and then came to a few realizations.

You have to buy the $ 1,000 package if you really wish to receive the nuts and bolts of getting into this business.

At first, it seemed every new member immediately became an affiliate marketer for the course. I felt that was off, and it recalled images of a Ponzi scheme.

I was wandering through the social media pages. There seem to be members making it beyond the start line and mediocre shot at this business.

Also, there are many “Top Contributors” and “Mentors” to contact and deal with to get the required information or experience to become a successful online entrepreneur.

Pros and Cons

  • Friendly and honest presentation. Clear framework of how to get there - it instills hope.
  • The support and association of members on social media.
  • The cost of the course is something to consider when paying in ZAR.

High-quality, well-polished course with a high price tag

Thanks to this course, I didn’t just dip my toes into the online world — I made my first money online! The people I met along the way were priceless in helping me gain knowledge, understanding, and experience for this endeavor and future business endeavors.

It was like someone turned on a light, revealing all these exciting opportunities and investments I’d never considered before. And guess what? It even sparked the idea for me to launch my own blog.

Launch You is definitely not the cheapest option, but it was worth every penny for the structured, in-depth training it offers. Plus, their community is a great resource for peer support and up-to-date industry knowledge.

Pros and Cons

  • Step-by-step training.
  • Access to a highly active community.
  • Live Q&A sessions.
  • It tends to be too focused on marketing and selling its products.
  • Compared to its competitors, this program is quite expensive.

They practice what they preach

I was extremely skeptical about the Launch You program until I took a chance at it and started to go through their training program. They practice what they preach by offering support and groups where newbies can come to ask questions. It can be a bit confusing at first with all the emails you get, but once you get on the phone with one of their advisors, they set you on the right track.

Pros and Cons

  • The platform is easy to navigate
  • The groups and community
  • The step-by-step guidance
  • Too many emails
  • A bit confusing when starting out as there are too many options
  • Support is good, but they take too long to answer questions

Polished course, but also a polished marketing campaign

Since I’m completely new to affiliate marketing, I was a bit skeptical to review Launch You because I have nothing to compare it with. Also, I only purchased the Modern Wealthy component of the course, rather than the full program known as LaunchPad.

My introduction to this course came from interacting with a Facebook ad. The video message was the typical “take control of your life and time by making money online” type of thing. I subscribed to the email list and received more stories about the system in the next few weeks, how others had found freedom, etc.

The initial offer was $39 with a 30-day refund policy, which grants you access to the Modern Wealthy section of the platform. You receive an e-book on authority marketing (which Stuart claims to be a newly-discovered concept), 7 quick-start videos, and access to the private Facebook group.

The e-book and videos are mainly introductory, highlighting the main concepts of affiliate marketing and e-commerce. Still, they are largely an advertisement for the Launch You program of 997 dollars.

I took an introductory group call with one of the mentors. It was lacking in detail and very much filled with motivational talk, so I didn’t subscribe to the full program.

As far as the Facebook group goes, it seemed populated by complete newbies and a large number of affiliates. I would have liked some real-life examples of people making affiliate sites. Also, most of the messages are about inspiration, i.e. taking baby steps to build the life of your dreams. Perhaps more techie questions are answered behind the scenes, but it didn’t feel like that.

Many of the “success stories” listed on the website are pushing the course. You can also run your ad campaign for LaunchPad to get new members to sign up and earn an affiliate commission. I know there is a degree of marketing present in all courses, but if you’re making money from what you have learned, why are you investing so much time in selling the course to others?

My doubts were strengthened when an almost identical Facebook ad popped up in my feed. Although it was another person recommending the course this time, it felt like the same thing. Upon further research, I discovered that there is a lot more work involved in affiliate marketing than what Launch You suggests.

Pros and Cons

  • Introduction to the concept of affiliate marketing
  • Introduction to marketing possibilities
  • Led me to research other courses
  • Aggressive marketing
  • The "ambassadors" who claim to be your friends
  • Scant on course content prior to purchase

2 Questions & Answers

  1. I have a friend who has currently spent £11k on this course and I still paying out. I’m so concerned as I feel they do not have a clue what they are actually selling. They have given him a very cheap website to use as a link to sell their course and that it.
He is has been sucked in and Modern Wealthy are abusing his vulnerability.
Is there anyway this can be stopped to prevent future people being ripped off.
