Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.

I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.

Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.

I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best Amazon FBA courses. My team and I have spent 120+ hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.

All that to say: we know a thing or two about Amazon FBA and making money online.

How does Blue Sky Amazon help you make money?

Blue Sky Amazon is an online course that aims to teach you how to build an ecommerce business with Amazon FBA.

There are multiple strategies you can use for selling on Amazon, and this course from Sophie Howard mainly teaches you about private labeling. This is when you create your own branded products to sell on Amazon.

Who is Blue Sky Amazon for?

Based on my research, Sophie’s training seems to be geared more towards beginners who have never sold on Amazon before.

Having spent 120+ hours researching Amazon FBA, I’ve come to believe that building a successful Amazon FBA business – even with the help of a course like Blue Sky Amazon – is a tough task. Personally I would not recommend it if you’re new to working online.

Does Blue Sky Amazon have a good reputation?

I saw more praise than complaints while researching this course.

Sophie seems to be the real deal and nobody seriously disputes that she’s achieved massive success selling on Amazon. She has reportedly sold Amazon businesses for 6 and 7 figures, so she clearly knows what she’s doing.

Her premium training seems to be pretty good overall, but a few complaints came up repeatedly in my research, particularly in relation to the way Blue Sky Amazon is marketed and sold. You’ll find no shortage of reports about Sophie’s sales funnel being overly aggressive, and folks complaining about the high price.

Are Blue Sky Amazon students getting results?

I did find some good and recent success stories from Sophie’s students, but I expected to see more given how popular her training is (10,000 students and counting), combined with the high cost of entry.

Here’s the kind of testimonial I like to see for an FBA course…

Source: Blue Sky Amazon review on Trustpilot

However, more often I found students offering generic praise for Blue Sky Amazon, like this student who has enjoyed the training but has yet to launch a product on Amazon…

How much does Blue Sky Amazon cost?

I’ve seen reports online ranging from $2,500 to $4,000. But from what seems to be an official sales page for Blue Sky Amazon, the price is $3,995 USD, or 7 payments of $713.

(Jump to discount info below)

The usual sales funnel for Blue Sky Amazon involves scheduling an “Amazon Fast Track” call, to see if you’re a good fit for the training.

Keep in mind that you’ll also need a budget beyond the price of the training, for expenses related to creating and marketing your product on Amazon.

From Sophie’s free webcast:

You’ll want around $6,000 – $10,000 to bring your first product to marketing, including education and support. Some of you will invest more – but that’s the minimum.

Many Amazon sellers I’ve corresponded with say you’ll need a budget of $5000 or more beyond the price of a course, so if you go with Blue Sky Amazon it’s advisable to have a total budget of $9000 or more, including the price of the training.

Blue Sky Amazon Discount?

I’ve seen some reports and rumors about a discount for Blue Sky Amazon, but haven’t been able to confirm any of them.

Probably your best bet is to sign up for Sophie’s free webinar. That will get you on her mailing list, and I expect she’ll send out an email to that list whenever she’s running a promo or discount.

Refund Policy

This Blue Sky Amazon sales page specifies as 7-day money back guarantee:

If you change your mind about starting an Amazon business, just let us know within 7 days and get a 100% of your money back.

From what I’ve seen, they do honor that refund policy, though some students report having to contact Sophie’s support team multiple times to get their refund processed.

The best way to request a refund seems to be via this email address: [email protected]

Personally I consider 7 days a short amount of time to properly evaluate a course, especially if you’re new to Amazon FBA. So before you sign up for Blue Sky Amazon, make sure you have a clear week ahead to properly dive in and see if it’s right for you.

How is the training structured?

Blue Sky Amazon has 35+ hours of video training.

It’s actually two courses combined into one:

  • Product University
  • Amazon Navigator

Apparently these two courses were originally sold separately, but then Sophie combined them into one Blue Sky Amazon training.

Perhaps because of this, I have seen students reporting some overlap and disorganization within the course. There are also numerous reports that the video production quality isn’t great.

Here’s a video from Sophie’s YouTube channel that will give you a feel for her teaching style…

Apart from the pre-recorded training, students of Blue Sky Amazon get access to a private Facebook group (with 10,000+ other students), weekly group Q&A calls, and seven 1-on-1 coaching sessions with “your own personal coach.”

Green Lights 🟢

Here are several things to like about Blue Sky Amazon:

  • Lots of positive student reviews.
  • Helpful and active private community.
  • Comprehensive training.
  • 1-on-1 coaching calls.
  • Weekly live Q&A calls.
  • Sophie Howard seems to be the real deal.

Red Flags 🚩

A few things about Blue Sky Amazon that might give you pause:

  • Quite a few complaints about aggressive sales and marketing techniques.
  • I’d like to see more significant success stories from students in recent years.
  • The refund policy is only good for 7 days, giving you little time to evaluate the course.
  • On the expensive end, when compared to other Amazon FBA courses (though few alternatives offer so much 1-on-1 coaching).
  • Subpar video production quality.
  • Reports of overlap and disorganization within the training.

Other things you should know

  • Per my research and recommendations from successful FBA sellers, after buying the course you should have at least an additional $5000 on hand to kickstart your Amazon business.
  • After joining Blue Sky Amazon, students are offered an upsell to the “AX10 Program.” It basically involves more personalized training and “done for you” services. The price tag is quite steep at $10,000 but it doesn’t appear to be a pushy upsell and I’ve heard nothing but positive reports from students who have joined AX10.
  • Sophie says in several places that you should have at least 7 hours per week available to follow the training and build your Amazon business. I believe 20 hours per week is more realistic for most people.
  • You’ll find lots of handy downloads in the Resources and Tools within Blue Sky Amazon, including checklists, worksheets, templates, etc.

Should you join Blue Sky Amazon?

Blue Sky Amazon mainly stands out from other FBA courses by offering students seven 1-on-1 coaching calls.

If personal coaching is important to you, then Blue Sky Amazon is probably a worthwhile investment.

However, if you’re not committed to Amazon FBA and want to get a feel for it before investing significant time and money, I’d recommend starting with some lower-priced courses (see below) to test the waters and see if it’s a good fit for you.

Worst investment

Don’t waste your time and more importantly your money with this program.

The materials taught in this program are readily available on YouTube from many other experts and for FREE! There is no “secret special” way that this course teaches you to launch your business. This program is focused on branding but it’s the same process that everyone follows.

With the amount you spend on this program, you would think there would be added hand-holding for those who are complete beginners. But I haven’t found the coaches to be helpful, or to show that they really care for your success. They are just trying to tick the checkbox that they gave you their limited time to”coach” and you have to figure the rest out on your own.

Save yourself the $4k and use that money source your products.

Pros and Cons

  • Nothing. I wish I didn't waste my money.
  • Too expensive!
  • No accountability.
  • The program is nothing different than what's already available for free online.

Good training for those brand new to Amazon

I’ve done Sophie’s course twice now. Once in 2019 and again in early 2021 (after the recent updates and bonus packages were added). It’s a good course and Sophie is clearly very experienced on the platform. The product research, resources, tools, templates, and handouts are extensive too.

I’d say she’s a better ecommerce seller rather than an educator. Her presentations can be a little dull (looking like a PowerPoint from 2007) and long but she still does get the point across. After doing multiple FBA courses, I can see that she really does cover everything. The coaching is an excellent deal for beginners who will likely get stuck at multiple points on the journey.

Her marketing on YouTube/FB and sales team gives her a bad name but they’re probably targeting everyday folk who sometimes are just cynical or have limited capital. Yes, you can get launched for $500 with some samplers but that won’t make anyone any real money. I’d say $10k minimum for inventory or $40k for a better shot. The big dogs are coming in with $100k+. No FBA course creator is coming out with these realistic numbers.

The FB group is very popular and the coaches are in there every day. I think the higher course price (relative to other courses) is justified given the complimentary coaching and live events.

Overall, it’s improved over the years as a course with solid support but where one needs to be realistic with capital and timelines. 2-3 years minimum or 3-5 years more likely to get the big results, none of which are guaranteed because this needs to be treated like a business.

But if you can pull it off, there is a huge opportunity for a 6 or 7 figure exit given the flood of capital and rise in FBA aggregators.

Pros and Cons

  • Covers all bases about selling on FBA with weekly Q&A webinars.
  • Complimentary coaching and conferences (online today, future will be in-person conferences again).
  • Sophie is highly experienced in selling on Amazon.
  • Some of their marketing suggests that Amazon is an easy-peasy money mill (it isn't easy, but has potential).
  • Some of her videos and audio quality aren't production-studio standard as with other courses.
  • The course is a bit expensive, but I think this is a strategy to push away those who are less serious.

  1. I have requested a refund since I had a brain injury and cannot do the work required. Your rep asked me to provide proof of my health indicating that I have issues. 2. I paid for this course on August 1, 2023, with my charge card.

The US Bank says that they received my payment. Sophie Howard says that they did not.

Because I recognize the charge, I cannot get my money back. I got screwed.

I have forwarded bank statements to them and they still claim they have not received my money.

I don’t know what to do! Don’t make my mistake!!
