About the Author
Hey, Iβm Niall Doherty.
I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.
Since then, Iβve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.
I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best Amazon FBA courses. My team and I have spent 120+ hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about Amazon FBA and making money online.

How does Amazon Bootcamp help you make money?
The Amazon Boot Camp 4.0 by The Selling Family is an online course that aims to teach you how to build a business with Amazon FBA.
There are many strategies you can use for selling on Amazon, and the Amazon Bootcamp focuses exclusively on Retail Arbitrage (buying products locally) and Online Arbitrage (buying from retailers online) for sourcing products.
At the 5-minute mark of the below video, Cliff Larrew shows how he bought kitchen cleaning pads at a local big box store and later resold them via Amazon for a nice profit…
That’s the kind of thing Jessica and Cliff teach you how to do within Amazon Boot Camp.
Who is Amazon Boot Camp for?
Other popular strategies for selling on Amazon include Private Label and Wholesale. Those strategies generally require investing thousands of dollars to get the business off the ground.
The nice thing about Amazon Boot Camp and their arbitrage approach is that there’s a relatively low barrier to entry. You don’t need much initial investment or lots of experience to succeed with this kind of business.
Note however that the majority of the ABC training is about Retail Arbitrage, which requires you to visit local brick and mortar stores to find products you can later resell on Amazon. So in that sense, it’s not entirely an “online” business.
Most of the success stories I’ve seen from Amazon Boot Camp seem to come from moms and dads in the USA who already make frequent shopping trips throughout the week.
Does Amazon Boot Camp have a good reputation?
Yes.
I scoured the internet looking for praise and criticism of Amazon Boot Camp and The Selling Family, and couldn’t find a bad word about them.
That’s pretty amazing given that they’ve been running their Amazon course since 2012.
Jessica and Cliff have even been guests on two very reputable business podcasts: Smart Passive Income and Side Hustle Nation.
Here’s their June 2020 interview with the latterβ¦
I also like that Cliff and Jessica don’t do any flashy or overhyped marketing for their course.
As Jessica writes on the ABC sales page:
Since 2012 I’ve been helping others bring in much-needed money for their families and my students generate anywhere from $500 a month to $10,000 a month in actual profit.
That range seems more realistic and reasonable than what you’ll hear from many other Amazon course sellers.
Are Amazon Boot Camp students getting results?
Yes, they appear to be.
Check out the Amazon Bootcamp sales page and you’ll see a decent number of testimonials and success stories from people who’ve taken the course.
I like that they show student success stories after 2018. Before 2018 seems to have been something of a golden age for Amazon FBA, but the Amazon Boot Camp training appears to still be effective in recent years.
How much does Amazon Boot Camp cost?
Amazon Bootcamp has three pricing options.
In brief:
- Easy Payment Plan
$195 per month for 3 months - One Time Payment
$495 one time - Extra Support Option
$995 one time
The first two options are the same, just with different payment periods, and the payment plan works out a bit more expensive.
The last option comes with two noteworthy extras:
- Lifetime access to a private Facebook group (4.9k members)
- 3 group Q&A calls with Jessica
You can also choose one of the first two options above and then pay an additional $39/month for access to the private Facebook group.
Keep in mind that youβll also need a budget to buy items before you can resell them on Amazon. And you’ll need to invest some money in tools recommended within the course.
After buying the course itself, I’d recommend that you have at least an extra $500 to invest in getting your business off the ground.
Amazon Boot Camp Discount?
The Selling Family runs a few sales a year and sometimes offers a discount or coupon code to their email subscribers.
Refund Policy
Amazon Boot Camp has one of the best refund policies I’ve seen for an online business course.
Jessica’s words on the ABC sales page:
If you get into the Amazon Boot Camp 4.0 course and realize this just isn’t for you, all you have to do is email my support team and ask (nicely) for a refund within 60 days of your purchase.
We will process your refund within 24 hours and the money will be back in your account within 5 business days (because the payment processor takes this amount of time, not us).
That’s it. No questions asked.
I searched online and couldn’t find anyone reporting that they had trouble getting a refund, so this seems legit.
How is the training structured?
The training is broken up into 14 core modules, and most of the lessons are delivered in video format.
Here’s a look at a lesson where Jessica shows you how to source items at a grocery outletβ¦

Q&A Direction on the Course Lessons
Overall it amounts to about 10 hours of training. I found it comprehensive yet concise. It’s also easy to find your way around and to find and refer back to materials.
Green Lights π’
Here are several things to like about Amazon Boot Camp:
- A good amount of student testimonials and success stories.
- The training is comprehensive, practical and step-by-step.
- Active and helpful private community.
- Excellent refund policy.
- They teach a relatively inexpensive way to sell on Amazon.
- Created by successful Amazon sellers.
Red Flags π©
A few things about Amazon Boot Camp that might give you pause:
- It’s not made clear on the sales page how much you’ll need to invest in your business beyond the price of the training.
- Retail arbitrage strategy is hard to scale.
- Unclear if Jessica and Cliff are still actively selling on Amazon themselves.
Other things you should know
- Following the Retail Arbitrage strategy taught in the course requires you to visit local retail stores to source and buy items that you can resell on Amazon.
- I’d advise that you have at least $500 available to invest in your business beyond the price of the training.
- Jessica’s words on the sales page: “Although the Retail/Online Arbitrage methods DO work outside of the United States I do not cover those strategies in this course.”
Should you join Amazon Boot Camp?
Amazon Boot Camp is an interesting alternative to most other Amazon FBA courses we’ve reviewed.
The strategy they teach β and teach well, judging from student reviews and testimonials β is relatively inexpensive to start and seems more likely to generate a fast return on investment (ie. it’s possible to turn a profit within a few weeks, as opposed to several months).
It seems especially well suited for parents in the USA who frequently visit local retail stores as part of their weekly routine.
The main downsides of this strategy, in my opinion, is that you have to be constantly on the hunt for new products to resell, and it’s hard to scale beyond a few thousand dollars a month.
That said, it can be a good gateway into more advanced Amazon selling strategies such as Private Label and Wholesale.
If you’re on the fence about the course, it’s probably worth your while to take a chance on it given that their refund policy is so good.
