Niall Doherty

Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.

I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.

Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.

I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.

All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.

The Best Ecommerce Training?

We’re on a mission to find the best ecommerce course, based on feedback from real students combined with our own extensive research.

The Low Hanging System is a solid course but not quite the best we’ve seen…

How does Low Hanging System help you make money?

Low Hanging System aims to teach you how to make money on sites like Amazon and Etsy via the print-on-demand business model.

With a print-on-demand business, you provide the graphics that will be put on t-shirts, mugs, etc. Esty, Amazon, and eBay shoppers can find your products online.

When someone buys one of your products, a fulfillment service will print your design onto the product, then ship it directly to the customer.

As stated on the LHS sales page…

Who is Low Hanging System for?

Low Hanging System sells itself as a platform for people from all walks of life…

There are no advanced tech skills required at all. This was designed so that a 5th grader can do it. We’ve had successful people from all walks of life, including people worse at tech than you 🙂

Having seen inside the training, I partly agree: the training itself might be easy enough to grasp, but Amazon and Etsy print on demand can be quite a competitive type of business.

It certainly requires effort, but newbies can and are finding success here.

Does Rachel Rofe have a good reputation?

Yes.

Rachel certainly seems to have had significant success with the print on demand model herself.

For example, here are a couple of videos where she shows some earnings from her POD products on Etsy…

I don’t believe Rachel has ever revealed which store on Etsy is hers – I did some digging and found some candidates, but it’s still unclear – but that’s understandable given how competitive ecommerce is.

But she is clearly still actively selling on Amazon…

Rachel also shared a screenshot with us showing that she has almost 64,000 products for sale on Amazon 🤯…

Plus, she’s written best selling Amazon books over the years…

Here are some of Rachel’s current books…

Rachel’s also been featured in and contributed to major publications, including:

  • Forbes
  • Nasdaq
  • Huffington Post

And she does some great things with charity, like raising 50k in less than 10 hours. 3

All in all, I get the impression that Rachel still makes a lot of money running her own print on demand business.

Are Low Hanging System students getting results?

Students are undoubtedly getting results. This is particularly true for beginner sellers.

I spent a good chunk of time exploring the students-only Facebook group for Low Hanging System.

The group is very active, with thousands of students in there and hundreds more joining each week…

low hanging system review facebook group

You can find some big success stories posted in the group.

For example, this person generated $2k in one day on Amazon…

This student sold $1600 worth of mugs within a 2-week period…

low hanging system review amazon fba success stories

Another student reported $120,000+ in Etsy sales over ~1.4 years.

low hanging system review student results etsy seller gemma

According to Rachel, over 1,000 people have made their first sale from the Low Hanging System.

So you’ll see posts in the group about this frequently, which can be motivating for newbies.

These were literally the first 3 posts showing in the group when I checked it…

low hanging system review student results first sale on etsy
low hanging system review student results first random sale

Unfortunately, it’s not always clear how much profit beginner students are making, if any.

This student speaks to the fact that you can actually lose money on each item sold if you’re not careful…

low hanging system review student results lose money

(It’s worth noting that Rachel has an Etsy pricing calculator to help prevent this from happening.)

There are occasional posts in the group from students who are feeling discouraged, like this one…

low hanging system review students who are feeling discouraged

I tend to agree with the comment on that last post: building any successful business takes time.

So it’s not surprising to see some newbies struggling to make a sale for several months and feeling discouraged.

With literally hundreds of new students joining each week, and 15,000+ students having bought LHS in total, I was quite impressed with the amount of students making sales.

Here’s my bullet-point summary after spending about an hour combing through posts in the Low Hanging System Facebook group…

  • Group is super active
  • Rachel rarely posts, but there are mods respond to almost everything.
  • Lots of newbies
  • Easy to find reports of people making their first sales
  • Lots of frustration being expressed in the group, some struggling after months of effort
  • A few big success stories

How much does Low Hanging System cost?

The total listed price of Rachel Rofe’s course is $1,988 or 5 monthly payments of $497.

The payment plan adds up to $2,485.

According to the sales page’s FAQ section, there are some additional costs you might want to cover…

There are very few additional costs you have to invest in to make this work. Some people choose to become an Amazon Pro seller once they’ve seen some success. This costs $40 per month, but it is not required to sell things on Amazon. You may also have some relatively nominal expenses on things such as help on book keeping as your business grows.

Advertising expenses aren’t mentioned on the sales page. There are at least two lessons on this topic within the training, but they say ads are an advanced topic and not something you should worry about in the beginning…

low hanging system review a lesson about amazon ads
Above: A lesson about Amazon ads within Low Hanging System

However, advertising can expedite your success if done correctly, so I’d recommend putting aside some extra $$$ for this.

Low Hanging System Discount?

I couldn’t find a discount code, and there doesn’t appear to be a field to enter one during checkout.

I guess it’s full price only.

Refund Policy

The checkout page for Low Hanging System specifies a conditional 90-day money-back guarantee

You have a 90-day guarantee which commences from the date of the start of your program. After 90 days in the program you can obtain a 100% money back refund on your course fees providing that you have:

(i) stayed in the program for the entire Guarantee Period;

(ii) studied the course materials, completed the program, and can be seen to be taking necessary action; and

(iii) listed at least 90 different mugs on both Amazon and Etsy

I haven’t seen anyone reporting issues getting a refund on their purchase, so you can rest easy with this guarantee.

How is Low Hanging System structured?

Here’s what the training looks like once you log in and open one of the lessons…

low hanging system review categories

The core training is broken up into 10 main modules (referred to as categories), and it also has plenty of bonuses. These include checklists, additional trainings, and checklists.

Most of the lessons are in text format, but there are a considerable amount of over-the-shoulder videos as well.

Rachel explained via email…

…some of the lessons are text based because it doesn’t make sense to put them in a video, i.e. information people need to copy and paste.

As for navigation, I found it relatively easy to find my way around the training.

There’s a useful search function and lessons are clearly labeled.

Green Lights 🟢

Here are a few things to like about Low Hanging System…

  • Decent training on print-on-demand fundamentals.
  • Rachel Rofe walks her talk.
  • Very active private community.
  • Lots of bonuses.

Red Flags 🚩

Some knocks on Low Hanging System…

  • Somewhat expensive compared to other POD courses.
  • Conditional refund policy.
  • Lots of text lessons, often telling you what to do rather than showing you with a simple video.

Other things you should know

  • Rachel Rofé’s training maps out what she’s done to build her successful print on demand business. As part of your course enrollment, this valuable content becomes available to you.
  • The training includes essential downloads for your use, containing resources like spreadsheets.

Should you join Low Hanging System?

If you follow Rachel Rofe online, like her style, and want to learn ecommerce from her in particular, then Low Hanging System is probably worth your time.

But there are a couple big things you should be aware of before signing up…

  • Even if you dive into this full-time, earning a significant income is not easy nor a given and takes considerable time.
  • Beyond the price of the training, you’ll likely want to have some cash to invest in getting your ecom business off the ground.

The community is still very active, and there are many students making their first sales. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re making money but that the process can be effective.

If you’re on the fence about print on demand, I’d recommend checking out Rachel’s free content before signing up for Low Hanging System. That will get you acquainted with the basics and show you what’s possible with this kind of business.

Finally a business that works!

I have had a wonderful experience with the Low Hanging System.

The training and support from staff and coaches have been awesome and with the support you can’t go wrong.

The course is written to be easy to follow. They continue to add more training.

This course is offering me a way to quit my day job and I am thrilled. I have yet to earn the income I want, but I am moving slower than most people due to my own full-time job and time constraints.

It is steadily moving forward and the continued support is what makes the difference. Plus you have to be willing to work on this, every day.

Christmas 2022 I earned two grand, and that was my first holiday season. This year I know I will earn well into what I need because of all I am doing.

I have looked at numerous online businesses and this is by far the best I have seen. I am very thankful to be here with all these amazing people.

The Low Hanging System gives continually and you should take that and make it work for you!

I am thankful to Rachel Rolfe, the staff, and the wonderful coaches.

Pros and Cons

  • The step by step instructions in videos.
  • The coaches and their continued support.
  • The way it is written.
  • There isn't anything I dislike.

A Valid Way to Make Money Online in 2023

Overall I’m very happy with Rachel Rofe’s print on demand (POD) course.

I was unfamiliar with POD or making any money online before this course, and after eight months of consistently implementing the training I’ve been making a few thousand in profits.

I’m hoping to make POD my full-time income within another year. This is still definitely a valid way to make money online, even with today’s ‘saturated’ market.

However, I did highly deviate from Rachel’s ‘white mug black text’ system, and I mostly had success with other products that take a bit more time to create.

I personally don’t think a hundred mugs with the same phrase with just one word changed is the best way to do POD. I instead focused on finding products and designs people actually want to buy, instead of spamming the market with thousands of low-effort products.

But there are a thousand ways to do this system and a million different niches to design for, and I’m very grateful to Rachel and the team for introducing me to POD.

I really think a lot of people can be successful in their own ways using this system as a base.

It does take time and effort to implement the training, but so far I’m on track to make more money with this system than I have with my college degree.

Pros and Cons

  • The weekly training sessions with seasoned POD veterans - the weekly webinars were crucial to my success.
  • The Facebook group where I could get answers to my questions fairly quickly.
  • The step-by-step instructions with how to open accounts, and get set up with Amazon FBA, which can be very confusing at first.
  • The push to use Gearbubble instead of Printify, which I think is just a highly superior POD company. I'm in the process of switching all my listings over from Gearbubble to Printify, and Printful for Amazon.
  • The push to only do 'white mug black text' designs. While simplicity does sell, I found myself going to external sources to figure out how to make better designs.
  • The people in the Facebook group can be really complainy. It made me demotivated at first, but just focus on yourself and don't listen to the poeple who would rather complain than put the work in to make this system work.

This course has given me a newfound confidence in myself

I found out that this wasn’t the get-rich-quick course I was hoping for.

I did commit a great deal of time to the lessons that are split into small segments, as to how to get started and follow the course teachings.

There is a lot to learn, but I found that with each new part of the program, I became more confident that I could accomplish my desire to contribute monetarily to our income.

I love the community and the Facebook page that can help to point out where to get help with any questions you might have.

I have a fun business now on Etsy. I have designed many items that are selling, and I even have a ‘bestseller’.

I am so happy that I took the chance and purchased the Low Hanging System course and I still get excited when I get the Cha-ching message each time I sell a product on Etsy. It never gets old.

Pros and Cons

  • The confidence I gained from my success.
  • The knowledge I have now from the course that I can use in many other ways.
  • The Facebook community of creators and coaches.
  • It was a lot of information and work to start.
  • It takes time to get up, running, and making sales.

Low Hanging System requires work, but it's worth the effort

Low Hanging System is not a not a get-rich-quick course.

The possibility for positive income is there, but you need to learn the craft, follow design trends, follow the course, and go to the coaching.

This course offers a lot of possibilities.

Low Hanging System is logically sequenced. It is not pyramid-oriented at all.

I would suggest a weekly update section, but you can also get that in coaching.

Coaching is good, but sometimes it is a little blasé. But then again, they probably hear the same questions a hundred times.

Low Hanging System also has a good online community.

Overall, you can do this. You will need a decent computer, some software not provided by the program, and a willingness to try.

Pros and Cons

  • Well laid out course with ongoing access to materials.
  • It is logically laid out and it has good use of educational principles.
  • Coaching and online community.
  • Some newbies are highly unrealistic and negative, so you have to swim through them.
  • The course needs some updating in parts or a weekly update - sites keep changing.
  • There are other pieces of software that are not necessary, but really good.

Sound and logical strategy that works if you are willing to follow it

Overall, the experience has been excellent and has exceeded my expectations.

Though there is a ton of information, it is presented in such a step-by-step, logical progression that it is very easy to follow.

It is also broken into short lessons that make the material easy to consume “on the go.” Most lessons last only a few minutes, which makes it an easy way to make progress, even with the most challenging schedules.

I was impressed by the level of detail provided.

Most lessons contain videos, helping to support various ways of learning the material. The training is very transparent and all of it is recorded and made available to be viewed later. It’s all there, all the time, whenever you are ready to review it.

What surprised me the most was how robust the support system was. The coaching and support available way exceeded my expectations.

If you have specific questions, you can interact with coaches during bi-weekly coaching clinics, join the Facebook groups, or email the support teams. My experience has been that responses are received within 10-15 minutes, typically. This has saved me a ton of time and anxiety and unnecessary floundering about what to do.

The course has built such a solid support structure that genuinely wants to help students succeed. However, the student needs to be willing to take advantage of the help available and reach out for help when needed.

This is not a “get rich quick” scheme, nor does it market itself that way. The course teaches a sound business model that works if the student is willing to follow the process they are taught.

Everyone comes with their own ideas of what they think will work. However, I found that when I followed the training and geared my actions to align with what was taught, those were the products that were getting visibility and then sales, rather than my own ideas that I thought might work. I found that the closer I stuck to the strategy taught in the course, the more successful those products were.

My sales stunned me, considering I’ve barely had the time to work on this due to my personal time constraints. I’m about six months in, and have had six sales so far, all on products that were designed by following the guidance provided in the training. It encourages me to want to really take the time to do this in a more focused way.

Despite my limited ability to build this business up as much as I would have liked to so far, this is something I can continue to build on and generate the steady income levels I’d like to achieve, eventually. It won’t happen overnight. However, if you’re willing to continue to make regular, incremental progress, regardless of how small, it still helps.

Sometimes, all I have is 30 minutes, but in those 30 minutes I’m able to continue to add to what I’ve already built and keep moving forward – one tiny step at a time, as long as I keep taking steps.

The sense of community is greater than any other program I’ve ever been a part of. If someone truly wants to be successful and is willing to implement the training, there is no reason that they cannot.

The people who fail and don’t see any kind of success with this are likely not following the training or are simply not using the help and resources available that could help them. The resources and support are more than plentiful, but the key is to actually use them.

The student has a responsibility to actually participate. This is not a sit-back-and-you-will-be-successful program. The student needs to actively engage.

The trainings are informative and provide everything needed, but are delivered in such a friendly, casual, and supportive manner that they encourage students to continue to engage and keep going, even when they run into temporary confusion.

I’ve had great experiences with the support teams, as well, when I ran into some issues where I had questions or made mistakes. They are quick to offer support, clarification and are genuinely interested in helping.

Everyone – from the coaches, and the support teams to the other students are so nice. They encourage each other, they celebrate wins, and they provide support during challenges. They’ve worked hard to create a community that cheers everyone on to success, no matter how small those wins might be.

If I were to advise on how to be successful with this program I would say that if you invested in this course, you owe it to yourself to implement what you paid for. Listen to the coaches, listen to the training, do your best to implement what you’ve been taught, and reach out for help when you need a little more guidance.

The key is to continue to be willing to learn, and then apply that learning. I can’t recommend this program highly enough.

Ultimately, I expect that over time, I will be able to build a solid income stream that I can rely on. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this process, have learned so many interesting things, had fun, and deeply appreciate the level of commitment of the support teams.

Pros and Cons

  • Clear, step-by-step lessons that can be completed in very short blocks of time, fitting into even the most challenging schedule.
  • A solid strategy that allows each action taken to build upon what has already been done.
  • A strong support, coaching staff and resources to assist with any help needed.
  • There is an substantial upfront investment required that may prevent some from beginning.
  • There are multiple ways/approaches to handle a topic and each coach has a different perspective. Sometimes, the guidance may seem contradictory since opinions will vary. This could be confusing early on.
  • There are often upsell offers pitched. None are "required" to be successful, but it is sometimes more than I want to see.

Almost anyone could do this

From the beginning, the course has been easy to follow. Even so, some understanding of technology is definitely needed.

I am pretty much where I expected to be. Now that the holiday season is beginning, I am actually doing pretty good with sales.

I don’t always “agree” with all the methods – I am not someone who likes testing many different approaches at the same time, nor do I like ugly mockups. On the contrary, I do love details that help prevent problems. After you have learned the basics, it is always possible to come up with your own way of work.

I’m not making a lot of money, but I know why. I am not very creative or talented visually, so I stay within niches I am actually good at.

Pros and Cons

  • Facebook group.
  • Help with Amazon setup.
  • I never believed this could be done without costs but many people still seem to believe that. That creates negativity in the group.
  • Weird to navigate with updated platform.

Best Course I've Ever Taken

I joined the Low Hanging System in 2016 after I graduated from college. It has been life changing. The Low Hanging system is the first course I had ever taken that actually helped make my first sale online.

It wasn’t difficult for me to start making sales within my first 2 weeks of joining the training. I made a simple black text “This Might Be Wine” design that sold. Many people overcomplicate the process, but I just followed the modules. I created a simple design, added that on a mockup and optimized it on Etsy and Amazon with Rachel’s SEO method.

I found all of the lessons helpful. The Low Hanging System is perfect if you’ve never opened an Etsy shop. It was the original course on how to sell mugs before “gurus” on TikTok happened. The content still stands the test of time.

I found this is the only course that makes passive income without ads. I made my first sale within 100 listings, and 6 figures with over 1k listings on both Etsy and Amazon.

Furthermore, the LHS community is incredibly supportive and helpful. Rachel even has contests during the holidays, encouraging sellers to create more! She is always hands-on with the type of products, bootcamps and webinars she releases. She truly has a heart of gold, which shows through this community and course.

Pros and Cons

  • Easy to learn.
  • Simple to design.
  • I learned about SEO.
  • I don't see flaws with LHS, but thanks for asking :)

Oversaturated Market - Don't Waste Your Money

I was really excited to get started with this program. It seemed so easy, and I have a number of niche interests that fit perfectly with what the program recommends.

However, the market is way too crowded now and it’s very hard to make sales. Even worse, I recently saw that I was being charged more by Rachel’s system than I was making from Amazon. Again, each sale was losing me money!

Please save your money and try something else. This may have been a good idea in 2018, but it’s an overcrowded market now, and your products won’t sell.

Pros and Cons

  • Seemed easy.
  • Seemed part-time.
  • Seemed like it could make me money.
  • Not a way to make money.
  • Way too crowded market.
  • Not dishonest, but not an honest explanation of profit either.
