What is LottoKings?

LottoKings is a website that lets you bet on popular lotteries around the world.

Formerly known as CongaLotto, it was rebranded in 2017, the same year the site changed ownership. You will see it referred to nowadays as either LottoKings or Lotto Kings.

The service has been online in one form or another since 2008 and they claim to have had “almost 200,000 winners who have successfully received prizes ranging from as little as $10 right up to $1 million jackpots.”

You can sign up to LottoKings and bet on lotteries from most countries, with some notable exceptions (see below).

How does LottoKings work?

Online lottery sites come in two flavors:

  • Lottery agents
These sites have someone go into a store and buy physical lottery tickets on your behalf. Lotto Agent and theLotter work this way.
  • Lottery betting sites
These sites act as bookmakers and take your bets on the outcomes of popular lotteries around the world.

For the most part, LottoKings is the latter: a lottery betting site.

They say as much in their FAQs section:

However, I’ve read several reports that LottoKings also functions as a lottery agent in certain countries. I reached out to the LottoKings support team for confirmation on this but didn’t receive a clear answer. Nor is there information about this anywhere on their website.

Therefore, I consider LottoKings to be a lottery betting site only.

With that in mind, playing the lottery with LottoKings is similar to betting on sports, but instead of betting on which football team wins a big game, you’re betting that certain numbers will come up in your chosen lottery.

The more numbers you pick correctly on LottoKings, the more money you win, just like in the official lottery.

🤔 But where does the prize money come from?

Insurance.

Here’s how the LottoKings support team explained it to me via email:

In summary, here’s how Lotto Kings works…

  • You sign up for free.
  • Choose to bet on one of 20 lotteries from around the world.
  • Pick your lotto numbers and pay for your bet.
  • If your numbers come up, LottoKings notifies you after the draw and you receive your winnings.

Do you win on LottoKings?

Player Winnings 10
$1,679,000+

First of all, you’re unlikely to win any money playing the lottery. (If your goal is to make money online, here are some better options.)

LottoKings claims to produce regular lottery winners:

Source: LottoKings.com

I haven’t been able to confirm those numbers, but it’s not unusual for an online lottery site to keep details of their winning players private.

LottoKings does show the following on their Syndicates page:

The claim there of “12531 winnings” doesn’t seem to fit with the earlier claim of “almost 200,000 winners”.

Is LottoKings legit or a scam?

You might have landed on this page while searching for something like…

  • Is lotto kings legit?
  • Is it real?
  • Is it legal?

Based on my research, LottoKings is indeed a real and legal company.

Originally called CongaLotto and launched in 2008, the service is now owned and operated by a company called Legacy Eight Curacao N.V., which operates under License No. 8048/JAZ and is authorized and regulated by the Government of Curacao, an island country in the Caribbean.

You can verify this by clicking the Antillephone logo at the bottom of the Lotto Kings website…

This means the government of Curacao keeps a watchful eye on LottoKings to make sure all their operations are legal and above board.

While preparing this review, we personally signed up for an account at LottoKings and bet on the EuroJackpot lottery…

Unfortunately, our numbers didn’t come up in the draw, but the service was fine 👍

All that said, during my research I did read many complaints about LottoKings, mainly about poor customer service and players being charged for unwanted subscriptions.

To be fair, the majority of those complaints seem to be from 2017 or earlier, which is around the same time LottoKings rebranded and changed ownership.

Since LottoKings was bought by Legacy Eight in 2017, I’ve seen few similar complaints.

But the fact that I couldn’t get a straight answer from their FAQ section or customer support about their role as a lottery agent is a bit of a red flag for me.

It’s also a bit of a concern that they have no real presence on sites like Trustpilot or BBB.org.

So how safe is LottoKings?

We’ve personally used the service to bet on EuroJackpot and saw no issues. Their customer support also responded quickly to our questions via email.

You can also confirm that LottoKings.com is secured by 256-bit SSL encryption by clicking the GoDaddy verification icon in the site footer. You’ll see something like this…

As mentioned, I’ve also seen very few complaints about LottoKings since 2017.

Given all that, I do consider the site to be safe.

At the same time, I feel more comfortable using Multilotto (reviewed here) to bet on lotteries. That site simply checks more boxes for me.

What lotteries can I play?

You can bet on 20 lotteries from around the world via LottoKings.

The most popular include:

USA Mega Millions

  • Jackpot usually more than $100 million
  • The biggest jackpot ever won was $1.537 billion in 2018

USA Powerball

  • Jackpot is usually more than $30 million.
  • The biggest jackpot ever won was $1.586 billion in 2016.

Italy SuperEnalotto

  • Jackpot is usually more than €40 million.
  • The biggest jackpot ever won was €209 million in 2019.

EuroJackpot

  • Jackpot is usually more than €20 million.
  • The biggest jackpot ever won was €90 million. It has been won several times.

Does LottoKings work in my country?

Countries Available

Restricted in several: USA, Australia, etc. (details here)

LottoKings state on their website that they’ve had:

200,000 satisfied lottery winners in 118 countries around the world.

Unfortunately, they don’t provide a list of countries you can use the site from, or a list of countries it’s restricted in.

I have been able to confirm that LottoKings is NOT available for players living in the USA 🇺🇸 or Australia 🇦🇺

If the site is blocked in your country, you’ll see a message like this:

Fees and Commissions

Fees 13
very high

You must pay a fee to play a lottery via Lotto Kings.

Compared to buying a single ticket direct from a store yourself, I calculated that buying it from LottoKings will cost you approximately 187% more.

That fee is on the high end compared to other online lottery sites, and even more expensive when you consider that LottoKings is a lottery betting site; they don’t actually go and buy a real ticket on your behalf.

Meanwhile, Multilotto provides the same lottery betting service for almost half the price, and sites like theLotter buy you a real lottery ticket at a more reasonable cost…

Price of Tickets for 5 Popular Lotteries

5-Ticket TotalMark-up MultipleMark-up Percentage
Official Price9.501.000%

LottoKings27.292.87187%
BuyLottoOnline32.113.38238%
WinTrillions32.613.43243%

On the plus side, LottoKings does not charge you any fee or commission on your winnings.

But they might charge you a $10 “administration fee” to cancel a subscription…

Source: LottoKings Terms and Conditions

Oh and they’ll subtract €5 per month from your balance if you leave your account inactive for a year…

Source: LottoKings Terms and Conditions

And it seems they pay your winnings in Euros regardless of what currency you used to place your bet, which may leave you on the hook for currency exchange fees…

Source: LottoKings Terms and Conditions

They also allude to fees on withdrawals in the Terms and Conditions, but don’t specify what those fees might be 😕

All that considered, LottoKings isn’t one of the best lottery sites I’ve seen when it comes to fees and commissions.

Lotto Kings Coupon, LottoKings Promo Code

I’ve seen several promo codes for LottoKings listed on other websites. I tried them all but none worked.

But here are some legit ways you can save money on LottoKings…

🥂 Buy 1 Get 2 Free

A couple of legit offers we found while researching LottoKings:

  • Mega Millions buy 1 get 2 free
  • Powerball buy 1 get 2 free

🥳 Daily Deals

Check out the LottoKings Daily Deals page and you’ll see offers like these…

📧 Email Discounts

Here is the welcome offer I received via email after I created my LottoKings account…

I’ve received a few similar offers since signing up.

Like this one for 75% off Powerball and MegaMillions…

Keep an eye on your email after you sign up for LottoKings and you might get some nice discount offers like that.

🤝 Syndicates

Join a lottery syndicate on LottoKings and you increase your chances to win, though the actual cost for your entry could be higher or lower depending on the setup.

When I checked the syndicates page while preparing this review, it cost more than normal to play Megamillions that way, but it was cheaper to play Powerball…

💬 Live Chat Discount Code

I’m not sure how common this is, but as I was browsing the LottoKings website the Live Chat popped up and they offered me a discount code…

The code they gave me did work, but it looks like it was only valid for that particular month. So you’ll have to try this for yourself.

One way NOT to save money on LottoKings is via their Multi-Draw option…

MultiDraw

The official word…

However, when I tested the LottoKings Multi-Draw for Powerball and Megamillions, I wasn’t given any discount 🙁

Payments and Withdrawals

Payment Options 14
poor

As of this writing, Lotto Kings offers several ways to pay. These were the options that showed up for my account:

Your payment options might be different depending on your country.

Information on withdrawals from LottoKings are a little harder to find. Digging through their Terms and Conditions, I found some wording that gave me pause.

For example:

Sounds like:

  • You may be charged an unspecified fee for withdrawing your winnings.
  • If you win big your withdrawals will be limited.
  • You’ll get paid in Euros regardless of what currency you deposited and played with.

These kinds of conditions don’t compare at all favorably to other online lottery sites.

LottoKings Sign Up

The sign-up process for Lotto Kings is fairly straightforward.

You’ll be asked to provide your name, email, date of birth, address and phone number.

If you don’t provide accurate information here you may have problems with payments and/or withdrawals.

LottoKings Mobile App?

Platforms 15

Web only

Sorry, but there is no mobile app for LottoKings.

If you want to use it on your iOS or Android device, navigate to the lottokings.com website in your browser.

LottoKings vs WinTrillion

Both these sites are owned by the same company – Legacy Eight Curacao N.V. – and you’ll notice many similarities between them.

Ultimately, they both offer pretty much the same service with minor differences, though my experience using LottoKings was a bit better.

WinTrillions does tend to charge a higher fee for placing bets on the same lotteries.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend using either site when there is a better alternative like Multilotto available (Multilotto review).

How to close your LottoKings account

You might have landed on this page while searching for something like…

  • help close lottokings account
  • lottokings delete account
  • lottokings cancellation
  • delete lotto kings account
  • how to cancel my lotto kings account

Unfortunately I haven’t found ANY information about how to delete your account on the LottoKings website. I even read through their entire Terms and Conditions but didn’t see any relevant info there.

If you want to delete your account, your best bet would be to contact their customer service via this page.

How to cancel a LottoKings subscription

Up until 2017 it seems quite a few people were reporting that they got charged for unwanted subscriptions at LottoKings.

This may have been a problem with the website, or simply people forgetting that they’d subscribed… I’m not sure.

In any case, you won’t be signed up for a LottoKings subscription unless you check the subscription box when picking your numbers…

To cancel your subscription once you’ve signed up for it, LottoKings provides the following steps:

You can stop your subscription to any draw at any time by selecting the subscription in the My Orders section of your account and then clicking ‘Not Active’ on the drop-down menu on the Status row.

LottoKings Complaints

Up until LottoKings was rebranded and changed ownership in 2017, there were many complaints online about poor customer service and players being charged for unwanted subscriptions.

Thankfully, those issues seem to have been cleaned up.

However, my research revealed some legit complaints with LottoKings nowadays…

  • Lack of Transparency
I couldn’t find straight answers to simple questions about LottoKings. It’s still unclear which countries the site works in, where they act as a lotto agent (as opposed to a lottery betting site), what their withdrawal fees are, how many winners they’ve had, etc.
  • High Fees
Per our research, all online lottery sites have fairly high fees compared to playing the lottery yourself offline. But the fees I’ve seen at LottoKings are even higher than most of their competitors.
  • All Payments in Euros
No matter what currency you deposit or play with on LottoKings, you will apparently only be paid winnings in Euros. If that’s not the currency you typically use, you’ll probably be on the hook to pay exchange fees.

I might have been willing to overlook those issues if there weren’t better alternatives available. However, Multilotto offers pretty much the same service as LottoKings without the drawbacks.

Also worth mentioning that I received a phone call from a LottoKings representative a few hours after placing my first bet. The rep welcomed me to LottoKings and wished me luck, then asked how I heard about LottoKings and a few other questions that sounded like market research.

Maybe that shows that they care about their customers. But I was a little annoyed that they called me unsolicited. I did provide a phone number upon sign up, but I didn’t see anything on the signup page or in the LottoKings Terms and Conditions about giving them permission to call.

Personally, I prefer lottery sites that don’t call me out of the blue like that.

Is LottoKings worth it?

Using sites like LottoKings isn’t the best idea if your goal is to earn a living online. (There are much better options for that.)

But playing online lottery can be fun if you use the right sites and don’t get carried away.

Pros and Cons

  • Bet on all the big lotteries
  • Easy to use
  • Licensed and regulated
  • Decent bonuses and special offers
  • Can’t buy official lottery tickets
  • High fees
  • Lack of transparency
  • All withdrawals in Euros
  • Restricted in several countries
  • No mobile apps

Unfortunately, I can’t in good conscience recommend LottoKings when there are better online lottery sites available.

1 thought on “LottoKings Review”

  1. Please do not make the same mistake as me. I sent money to open an account in good faith. Lotto kings then told me they were unable to “verify” me and wanted a copy of my passport or driving licence, copies of the front and back of the card used for payment (less the four digits in the middle and the cvc number) and a utility bill. All to verify my money which I had already sent. I sent a copy of my driving licence but no more. I am deeply suspicious of this outfit and they refuse to return my money. My advice Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Dreadful.
