How To Stop Gambling

5 ways you can stop gambling and take back control of your life

This website is about making money online, including via gambling and lottery websites.

(Yes, it is possible to make money online like that… but not very likely.)

However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also provide some information about how to stop gambling.

I’ve researched the topic and collected the best resources I’ve found on this page.

How to stop gambling

How do you know if you have a gambling problem?

If gambling has become a compulsion for you – something you struggle to control – then you likely have a gambling problem.

Gamblers Anonymous defines a compulsive gambler as

…a person whose gambling has caused growing and continuing problems in any department of his or her life.

Is gambling causing such problems in your life?

If so, the following may help.

✋ How To Stop Gambling (5 Ways)

Attend a Gamblers Anonymous meeting

Gamblers Anonymous has been around since 1957 and has helped countless people stop gambling.

Visit the Gamblers Anonymous website and see if there is an upcoming meeting near you.

Here’s how the organization describes itself:

GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. There are no dues or fees for Gamblers Anonymous membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. Gamblers Anonymous is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. Our primary purpose is to stop gambling and to help other compulsive gamblers do the same.

Attend just one meeting and see if it’s helpful.

Visit the GamCare website

GamCare is a UK-based charity that provides lots of support for gambling problems, including phone support, live chat, group chat and forums.

You don’t need to be in the UK to use their services.
