About the Author

Niall Doherty

Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.

I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.

Since then, I’ve earned my living online doing a variety of things:

  • Blogging
  • Web design
  • Advertising
  • Online courses
  • Ebooks

At the end of 2018, I decided to focus on affiliate marketing.

Here’s a graph of my affiliate income since then…

All that to say: I haven’t simply taken lots of affiliate marketing courses – I’ve actually TRIED and TESTED many of the tactics and strategies shared in those courses, and know from experience what works and what doesn’t.

Best Free Affiliate Marketing Course

If you can’t afford to invest in a premium affiliate marketing course, these are the best free resources to get you moving in the right direction.

Miles Beckler’s Affiliate Marketing Crash Course

This is a practical text and video-based program featuring YouTube videos that cover evergreen affiliate concepts in depth.

It provides experience-based insights by Miles Beckler, a well-regarded online entrepreneur.

The course covers topics such as…

  • choosing a niche
  • keyword research
  • content marketing

Miles also offers a free supplementary course: WordPress 101, which covers the technical basics of using the WordPress platform.

Ferdy Korpershoek’s Complete Affiliate Marketing Course For Beginners

πŸ‘† that’s a comprehensive, 7-hour video that walks you through affiliate marketing from start to finish.

It offers in-depth, over-the-shoulder screen recordings, making it an ideal resource for those who prefer to learn by watching and doing.

I recommend you apply the material as you watch to get the most out of it.

It’s a pretty long and detailed course, so you might not finish it in one go. But it’s packed with useful info and skills and it’s completely free.

The Authority Hacker Podcast

Authority Hacker Podcast

The Authority Hacker Podcast is a super helpful resource for affiliate marketers.

Hosted by Gael Breton and Mark Webster, it covers various aspects of online marketing, including SEO, affiliate marketing, and content creation.

The podcast stands out for its practical tips and strategies, tailored for both new and seasoned online entrepreneurs.

It’s a valuable addition to any affiliate marketer’s toolkit, providing insights to help grow your online presence and authority.

(Btw, Authority Hacker also have a premium affiliate marketing course called The Authority Site System, reviewed here.)

Income School’s Complete Blogging System

πŸ‘† in this hour-long video, Ricky Kesler from Income School outlines a step-by-step system designed to help even beginners achieve full-time income in 24 months.

The focus is on practical strategies for SEO, content creation, and monetization, tailored for those looking to escape the 9-to-5 grind.

The video serves as a useful intro for anyone aiming to build a successful affiliate marketing business via blogging.

Ahrefs’ Affiliate Marketing Course for Beginners

πŸ‘† that’s Ahrefs hour-long, beginner-friendly affiliate marketing course.

It’s well-made and explains things clearly, often using real-life examples.

For instance, you’ll learn more about promoting a website than just how to set one up using WordPress

It gives a good, broad look at the whole subject, especially focusing on SEO strategies.

The course is built around Ahrefs’ own software, so you’ll need a subscription to use it.

Tyler Stokes’ Free Affiliate Marketing Course for Beginners

Tyler Stokes' Free Affiliate Marketing Course for Beginners

This course is an older resource, but still relevant for those looking to dive into affiliate marketing.

It offers a more in-depth approach compared to some newer courses on Udemy.

And it’s tailored for those who are starting from scratch, with no prior experience and uncertainty about which topic to choose.

Ciaran Doyle’s Easy As 123 Affiliate Marketing Course

Ciaran Doyle's Easy As 123 Affiliate Marketing Course

This is another free affiliate marketing training on Udemy. It’s a solid resource for beginners, offering a clear and practical introduction to the topic.

The course focuses on the essentials, like setting up a successful affiliate website and choosing the right niche, using engaging real-world examples like Minecraft hosting.

It’s particularly strong in explaining the fundamentals in a non-technical way.

However, it could provide more depth in areas like selecting offers and email marketing.

Great Learning’s Affiliate Marketing Course

Great Learning's Affiliate Marketing Course

This 1.5-hour course is a decent kick-off point for beginners in affiliate marketing. Its main focus is the basics and fundamentals.

However, it feels a bit like listening to a college lecture, light on practice and heavy on theory.

Think of it as a primer on the subject, offering an overview of the fundamentals rather than a step-by-step guide.

Voluum’s Affiliate Academy

Voluum's Affiliate Academy

The Affiliate Academy by Voluum is a decent place to learn about affiliate marketing with paid ads.

It mainly focuses on paid traffic for nutra offers (eg. food supplements or beauty products).

Alison: Master Affiliate Marketing Step-by-Step Guide

Alison: Master Affiliate Marketing Step-by-Step Guide

While not entirely a step by step guide, this free course from Alison covers a wide range of topics such as…

  • CPA marketing
  • ClickFunnels
  • Pre-selling
  • Lead generation
  • Facebook ads
  • Etc.

  1. After looking at your list of the best affiliate marketing courses, I am glad to see that Wealthy Affiliate made the cut. I have been a member since 2019 and I can understand why it’s #10. Yes, It’s free to join and you can start a blog right away and the community will help answer any questions, but the introductory material really needs to be updated.

  2. I find your affiliate course reviews extremely helpful, especially as one who is planning to start an affiliate marketing business asap.
I’m Nigeria-based. Considering that most of my prospects would be local and that most products are made in the West or Asia, with high shipping costs, wouldn’t it be better if I promote services rather than physical products?
    Your thoughts, please.

    • Hey Napoleon,

Thanks for the comment. Promoting digital products would likely be best for your situation. Or you could target an audience in another country (eg. the USA) and be an affiliate for physical products they can buy easily.
