Get rich quick businesses are a LIE

So says Sarah Chrisp – a big name in the dropshipping game – in this 15-minute YouTube video…

I’m skeptical of dropshipping for two reasons:

  • Everyone and their grandma seems to be trying it, which usually ain’t a good sign.
  • Most dropshippers don’t reveal what it is they sell, which is understandable, but also unfortunate because it’s hard to verify their claims… which makes dropshipping a great industry for scammers and charlatans.

That said, I appreciate Sarah’s sober take in the aforementioned video 👍

She quotes from thebalancesmb.com:

it normally takes anywhere from six months to several years for a new business to become profitable. So, one of the main problems for people starting small businesses is paying their bills until their new business starts to make money.

Given that, be very careful about quitting your day job to go all-in building an online business. Ideally you’d have at least six months of savings put away before you take the leap.
