Nick Loper
- Hetal Shelf Filmer
- $50.50 from four gigs
📝 Nick Loper tested Hetal, an app that pays shoppers to film the shelves at Target, Walmart, Sprouts and Whole Foods.
You claim a gig, film each aisle on your list top to bottom, then upload the videos at home.
Brands pay Hetal from $2 per store a month to check their shelves, and AI scans your footage for problems…
Sales reports don’t tell them if a display got knocked over, a price tag is wrong, or a competitor quietly took their spot on the shelf.
Nick’s trial gig (12 aisles for $10) worked out at $15 an hour.
Stacking three gigs at one Target pushed that to $23.
That’s $50.50 in all, or about $20 an hour in the store 🤑
Roughly half the $40–$60 an hour Hetal advertises, and the drive isn’t paid…
A $6 gig isn’t worth a special trip, but it might be worth 20 minutes while you’re picking up groceries.
The catch is that uploading through the app is painfully slow, and Nick’s first batch took days to go through, even on home wifi.
Pay is slow too (one batch took over a week), and new users can claim only 3 gigs a week after the trial.
Add the stores where you already do your weekly shop, and stack a few gigs into the same trip 😎
