This review is a joint effort between Will Peach (writer and researcher for eBiz Facts) and Niall Doherty (founder of eBiz Facts).

Our process:

  1. The eBiz Facts team had previously spent 100+ hours researching and reviewing online survey sites.
  2. Niall and Will spent a combined 5+ hours researching and testing QuickThoughts.
  3. Niall contacted QuickThoughts support to test out their responsiveness.
  4. Will wrote up his findings and Niall combined those with his own to create a first draft of this review.
  5. We sent the draft to our Freedom Business Builder community and the folks at QuickThoughts and asked for feedback.
  6. We made our final edits and published the review.

What is QuickThoughts?

QuickThoughts is a free mobile app that offers rewards for completing surveys. By clicking the links below and downloading the app, you can sign up and start earning:

The Quick Thoughts app is mainly for use by US, UK, Canadian and Australian residents, but not limited to. Check the app download pages above to see if it’s available in your country.

The app supports the following languages: English, Spanish, French, Danish, Dutch, German, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian Bokmål, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Swedish.

Depending on the platform; iOS or Android, rewards differ. iOS offers iTunes vouchers and Android offers Amazon.

This way of making money online is known as GetPaidTo.

How does QuickThoughts work?

Download the Quick Thoughts app and it will send you notifications on available surveys. Turning on the GPS of your phone or tablet will scan for location-based options. Sometimes these might be local business or restaurant reviews.

Here’s how QuickThoughts explains it…

You complete the surveys inside the app after answering a few pre-qualifying questions. Some surveys require Flash for playing video.

QuickThoughts rewards are earned immediately on a survey completion. A balance will show on your dashboard.

Is QuickThoughts legit or a scam?

QuickThoughts is definitely legit. The platform is owned by Dynata LLC, a market research company operating out of Texas, US. Dynata LLC also owns other legit survey sites, such as:

Trustpilot gives QuickThoughts a 2.0 rating but that’s based on just a few reviews…

Dynata LLC has a similar rating. It scores 1.62 on Better Business Bureau…

Source: BBB.org

Despite these ratings, QuickThoughts has a good reputation among its users. Many report it being one of the better paying survey sites around.

The app scores 3.5 in the App Store…

And 3.7 on Google Play…

So is Quick Thoughts safe?

Quick Thoughts is safe. The app requires email and password confirmation. Privacy is also taken seriously.

Here’s what the platform has to say about it….

How much does QuickThoughts pay?

QuickThoughts can pay you from $5 to $10 per hour. The platform states that single surveys can pay anything up to $3, while local activities can pay up to $5. Most users report earning an average of $1 per survey.

  • Quinn Thompson

  • Online Survey Taker at QuickThoughts
  • $5 – $10 per hour

Quinn Thompson represents a typical person doing online research studies at QuickThoughts. As you can see, the earnings are fairly low, but this is typical for survey sites.

Many claim to be able to make $10 per hour using the app which this is mainly down to receiving faster surveys (about 5-10 minutes).

Users are also only able to complete a maximum of 5 surveys each day, which greatly limits the amount of money you can make.

According to several Reddit users payouts are dependent on location and demographics. US users, for example, claim better earnings than Canadians.

There are many reports of random account suspensions using the app. However, these are said to be resolved within a couple of days by support. (You can contact support within the app.)

Random disqualifications after completing surveys is another complaint. You do get $0.10 as a “consolation prize” for not qualifying though…

QuickThoughts Rewards

The Android app pays with gift cards for Amazon, and the iOS app for iTunes. There is a $10 minimum cash out for both. You can redeem your rewards directly in the app. It’s instantaneous.

Unfortunately, the app doesn’t pay you directly with cash.

Quick Thoughts App Hack

I spent some time searching for and testing hacks to help you earn more money on the Quick Thoughts app. Main hacks include:

  • Making sure you have your notification settings turned on for the app helps. It’ll send messages to you as soon as new surveys are available. This is important as surveys do close after a set amount of responses.
  • The same goes for location services. Enabling them can make you eligible for more surveys.
  • One Reddit user suggests cashing out at every $10 earned. That way you’ll avoid any random suspensions that could take days to resolve.
  • Another suggests answering as honestly as possible in the hope of being sent more surveys. Not all users agree however.
  • For more tips, check out our general list of survey site hacks to help you maximize your earnings on Quick Thoughts and similar online survey platforms 😉

Quick Thoughts Missions

QuickThoughts Missions are the “local activities” that the app refers to on sign up. Basically missions can be anything from a quick survey based on a local shopping experience to a series of questions reviewing a local event. Make sure your GPS and location services are on to qualify.

This is how the app describes it…

Source: GooglePlay

QuickThoughts Referral Program

Referral Program 8

No

There is no mention of a referral program either on the app or the main website.

QuickThoughts Complaints

Main complaints include:

  • GPS and location services draining batteries on devices
  • Random account suspensions
  • Few options on reward redemptions (only Amazon or iTunes).

Is QuickThoughts worth it?

Based on my research and reading many accounts of successful earners, I’d say QuickThoughts is probably worth it. Some users report making $70 or more from the app fairly painlessly over several weeks.

However, if you’re looking to earn a living working online, there are much better options for that.

The major pros of Quick Thoughts include a good quantity of surveys, reasonable pay per survey (provided they’re not too long) and the ease of use.

The biggest con remains the concern over account suspensions and having to regularly resolve the issue with support.

I’ll give Quick Thoughts a 3.1 rating.

  1. I love this app! $200 worth of Amazon gift cards in about 6-7 weeks. Unfortunately for the past 3 days I have been getting denied for EVERY survey I have tried to take. It says I’ve done something wrong.

    Reply
  2. It won’t let me submit my email address to contact them, won’t let me redeem my rewards… says my account is under review for 72 hours, but it has been over 72 hours and it’s also not giving me anymore surveys

  3. Quickthoughts is not legit its a scam. They suspend me as soon i tried to get my rewards. Reasons that are untrue! This people should be out and suspended because they are abusing people who are doing surveys truthfully and wasting our time. They should be hold liable.

  4. Read your review, downloaded the app, got suspended after $10 worth of surveys indefinitely for the “accuracy and attentiveness” of my account. I answered everything honestly so I have no idea what they mean. Overall big waste of time, I should’ve listened to the other reviewers.

  5. I had a particularly horrible experience with this app, and this is my review of it –

Complete scam. Ive been taking surveys on over 30 panels for the last seven years and never had a problem until i tried this app. After easily making ten dollars in two days I attempted to cash out, made it all the way thru the process and encountered an “error” at the last minute. Contacted the conpany and they claim it was an inaccuracy issue and they have suspended my account. As I stated.. Over 30 panels and never a single moments trouble cashing out. Do not recommend wasting your time.
