How does Bye 9 To 5 help you make money?

The goal of Jordan Mackey’s training is to help you earn money from YouTube without showing your face. So the idea is to create, monetize and automate a faceless YouTube channel.

For example, you might create or pay people to create a video about the Top 10 Wealthiest YouTubers Under 20. As the video gets views over time, you can get paid by YouTube or by promoting other people’s products as an affiliate and earning a commission.

YouTube automation is when you utilize software or hire people to automate specific tasks related to managing a YouTube channel. The most common examples are uploading videos, managing comments, creating video thumbnails, and scheduling content.

Jordan advises that your YouTube channel focuses on a single niche. Here are some of the channel types he discusses…

  • List Channels
Usually feature Top 5 or Top 10 lists. Tough to monetize these channels with affiliate marketing or sponsorships, but you can earn ad revenue and eventually sell the channel.
  • Personal Brand
This kind of channel gains more trust and is therefore more suitable for selling or promoting products. However, choosing adequate topics and posting often takes more work.
  • Combination
You can combine the previous two and have the best of both worlds. You wouldn’t have to show your face, yet you can still pick viral topics and sell products.

To make money with your YouTube channel, you will first need to get it monetized so you can put ads on your videos.

Jordan further explains on the sales page…

[…] you need to learn the secrets for crushing the YouTube algorithm, how to make your videos go viral, how to rank your videos in the search results, how to make YouTube suggest your videos, how to create engaging thumbnails, how to pass monetization review quickly, how to study your analytics and make necessary changes, the secret to earning 10 times more money than other YouTube channels, how to raise your CPM, how to place the ads on your video, how to automate, outsource, and scale your channels, and much more.

Many of these things are simple, but doing them all correctly in the right order makes all of the difference between a channel that makes an absolute killing, and a channel that makes nothing.

Jordan teaches two ways to get monetized. The first option is YouTube-compliant and the other is against YouTube’s policies.

The grey-hat shortcut can but doesn’t always work. The main downside is the possibility of losing $100-$300 and having to start a new channel from scratch. The upside is that if it does work, you can start earning from your videos immediately.

You’ll learn both and hear the pros and cons of each so you can get a feel for which is better for you.

Who is Bye 9 To 5 for?

Bye 9 To 5 sells itself as a platform for people from all walks of life that would like to make money via YouTube…

The best part about this program is that it is built for both beginners and advanced YouTube channel creators! We cover everything step-by-step A-Z, from creating your GMail account and YouTube channel to all of the advanced strategies and techniques.

Having seen inside the training, I tend to agree.

If you want to go the automation route, it helps if you have some experience outsourcing tasks and building a team. IMO, that’s the part of the training people might find most challenging.

Otherwise, there’s a good amount of info on doing it yourself.

Does Jordan Mackey have a good reputation?

For the most part, yes.

Jordan claims to own 5 YouTube “cash cow” channels and has a few YouTube subscriber awards to back that up…

jordan mackey proof

Here’s a video where Jordan talks about his million subscriber award (around the 30-second mark)…

I never managed to find that channel, and Jordan understandably doesn’t want people to find it…

He apparently also has at least 2 more channels with 100,000+ subscribers.

But one thing that gave me pause was Jordan’s use of fake scarcity in his marketing…

bye 9 to 5 fake scarcity

Which made this image on the sales page pretty ironic…

Despite this, I think it’s pretty clear Jordan walks his talk and has a respectable online reputation.

Are Bye 9 To 5 students getting results?

Browse through the official Bye 9 To 5 websites – and the private Facebook group – and you’ll find no shortage of student testimonials and success stories.

For example…

bye 9 to 5 review jordan makey student results

My impression is that Jordan’s training can certainly be effective, but results like these are not the norm. Jordan’s methods aren’t a magic bullet, and faceless YT cash cow channels take considerable work and investment.

So keep that in mind before you sign up for Bye 9 to 5.

How much does Bye 9 To 5 cost?

For access to the Bye 9 To 5 training, there are two options:

  • $697 one-time
  • 3 monthly payments of $297

The latter adds up to a total price of $891.

You get lifetime access with either option.

In terms of additional costs, Jordan mentions numerous paid software options as well as outsourcing day-to-day tasks to scale your YouTube business. You can of course use the free software and methods he teaches and do the work yourself.

Other than outsourcing tasks – for which Jordan recommends using Fiverr and Upwork – here are some optional tools and services Jordan discusses…

  • Monetized channel – starting at around $100-$300
You can buy an already monetized channel to avoid monetization reviews
  • Pro VID IQ plan – starting at $7.50/month
VID IQ helps with keyword research to boost your channel faster.
  • Video Marketing Suite – $47/month
Keyword research tool made specifically for Bye 9 To 5 students.
  • Viddyoze – free 7-day trial, then $47/month
    Video editing software.
  • Thumbnail Blaster – $36.86
    Video thumbnail design software
  • Temi and Rev – starting at $0.25 per minute
Video transcription services. Pricing (and quality) depends on whether you opt for AI or human transcription.
  • Domain and hosting for a website
Jordan recommends GoDaddy for both a domain (starting at $0.99) and hosting (starting at $5.99/month). You’d mainly use the website for affiliate marketing off of YouTube.

Bye 9 To 5 Discount?

No luck in finding a discount or coupon code despite extensive searching.

It seems you must pay the full price for access.

Refund Policy

The sales page for Bye 9 To 5 specifies a 120-day action-based money-back guarantee…

[…] we are giving you a full 120 days to watch the training and try out what you learn, and if you don’t make the money back you spent on this course we will refund your money 100% as long as it’s within 120 days. This is action based, meaning you must take action and show us you’ve taken action. First, You must watch through every video in the program in its’ entirety. You must show us your course work, which includes: your niche research, keyword research, and video topic research, you must create a channel and create and upload at least 60 videos that follow what we teach, and you must prove to us that you fully implemented the system taught in the program and you didn’t at least make back the money you spent on the course.

I’m not a fan of action-based refund policies and would much rather see a no-questions-asked policy here.

And given that they require you to have created and uploaded “at least 60 videos” in 120 days, it sounds like it’s rather costly to be eligible for a refund 😕

That said, I’ve yet to see anyone reporting issues getting a refund on their purchase of Bye 9 to 5.

And Jordan does make it clear on the sales and checkout page that he’s looking for action-takers only.

How is Bye 9 To 5 structured?

Here’s what the training looks like once you log in and open one of the lessons…

bye 9 to 5 review jordan makey course page

The core Bye 9 To 5 training, previously called Tube Monetization & Automation Program, is broken up into 15 modules that have 110+ video lessons. I found the videos rather concise and easy to follow.

Most of the videos are slides and/or screencasts where Jordan walks you through the training, and it’s pretty comprehensive. You’ll learn a lot about YouTube itself and creating YouTube content, as well as SEO and affiliate marketing.

Bye 9 To 5 also has a few helpful downloadable files, including a top niches list.

Finally, there’s an active private Facebook community for Bye 9 To 5 students with 6000+ members…

You’ll find success stories, student questions, and new students just saying hi.

And browsing through the group, I noticed either Jordan or community members responding to posts.
