Stephanie Yuhas is an LA screenwriter who helped develop the Mystery Science Theater 3000 reboot that Netflix picked up.

She also minds other people’s animals, which she says pays about $5,000 a month, up to $15,000 over the holidays.

Stephanie had never owned a pet, beyond a few fish.

Over time, I realized it’s not just about pet-sitting. My job is to enter your circus and be the ringleader. Other things come up, too; maybe someone needs a ride to the airport. So the income is stacking within the gig because I am taking over someone’s life for them, and I do charge extra for that. When there’s a lot of animals in the house, each animal gets charged additionally.

Word of mouth brought the clients, and she now farms the overflow out to friends from the industry.

She only joined Rover because she has dyscalculia and needed help with invoicing, which in California piles 25% plus an 11% booking fee onto her price 😬
