Tech Companies Still Pay Her $1,000 Per Blog Post

Right now I’m charging anywhere from $900 to $1,200 per blog post. Takes me about 5-6 hours to write each article…

I am using a little bit of AI, but a lot of it’s all me, and the tech companies know that and that’s why they’ll offer that price.

That works out to $150 to $240 an hour 🤑

Most of those hours go on signing up for the tools she’s writing about and trying them out, which is a big part of what the companies are paying for.

At 5 to 10 posts a month, plus some college essay coaching, Steph puts her income at $6-7K a month, only weeks after leaving her full-time job at Zapier 👀

She landed her first client on Upwork (a freelance jobs marketplace) back in 2016, so newcomers should expect to start lower…

I’m seeing a lot of $30 an hours on Upwork, $40 an hour. You can get away with that, especially if you’ve got… the portfolio and the pitch that’s tailored well.

For a portfolio, she suggests three blog posts and a landing page on your own site.

Write those about software you already use, then pitch on Upwork and cold email companies whose products you genuinely like 😎
