While the 2010s birthed a generation of social media megastars, the 2020s will see the emergence of a creator middle class. I do think it’s very much possible for the average person to join this middle class, but it’s important that everyone understands the punishing economics at play.
That article is well worth a read if you’re considering pursuing a career as a creator. Whether it be on Substack, YouTube, TikTok or elsewhere, remember that going from zero to hero is rare, even with oodles of time and talent.
