Scale Your Travel Blog Review

I bought Mike and Laura’s Scale Your Travel Blog course in January 2023. A lot of the content is about optimizing your for search engines and ranking on Google.

Since January 2023, I’ve made my first affiliate sales in March 2024!

I find the course extremely informative and beneficial. I learned a lot about the best SEO strategies and how to maximize your time and effort blogging.

Now that I’ve made some affiliate sales, I’m diving deeper into the affiliate marketing and email marketing section of the courses to scale my blogging income!

I feel that SYTB is very much worth the price. Not only am I learning how to rank on Google, but I am also learning the ins and outs of affiliate marketing, keyword research, and so much more.

The program also includes weekly Q&As, exclusive expert speakers, and access to many more blogging resources.

I would recommend the program to people starting their blogging journey and those who don’t know how to implement an SEO strategy.

As of now, I am currently working on optimizing my blog posts by finding hidden keywords.

Before I began this course, I was writing what I wanted to write about without any thoughts on what people were actually searching for!

This course is very audience-centered and has taught me the importance of providing information that readers are looking for.

This has ultimately led me to do a ton of necessary market research before I even hit “publish!”

SYTB (Scale Your Travel Blog) taught me EVERY STEP of how to build and start a blog the RIGHT way, from scratch, in preparation for monetizing it through ads, affiliate marketing, email marketing, and sponsorships.

Starting from knowing nothing about blogging, the Done-For-You keywords and outlines provided were GOLD.

When I got my first blog post review back from Laura, I was impressed with the thoroughness of her feedback. Each of the reviews I got back made me a better blogger and gave me the confidence I needed to write more posts.

I am a full-time business owner and I also take time off from blogging to climb mountains, so there were 4-5 months in 2023 that I couldn’t blog.

I had been blogging for nearly a decade without figuring out how to grow traffic or income consistently.

A big part of travel blogging is being able to earn money through both affiliates and ad revenue.

I got into Mediavine in January and March was my first big month for ad revenue at just under $1,500.

I’ve also been regularly earning around $500 a month from my affiliates. That’s only through having done the course as I didn’t know how to structure my posts to earn money before that.

These amounts are now rising as my blog is growing and I’m getting more traffic. This month I’m set to earn about $900 in affiliate income so it’s almost doubled which is great!

I decided I was going to try to make an income from a travel blog and I reviewed several SEO travel blogging courses.

After careful consideration (even though it was pricier than all the other options) I picked Scale Your Travel Blog.

There’s a ‘hiring’ thread for people who want to hire other people from within the group for various things (usually writing, but other jobs too).

There’s also a guest post thread. Laura regularly encourages us to share our thoughts – usually wins, but challenges as well.

She does live sessions frequently. Q&As allow you to ask questions – but you can post a question in the group whenever you want.

Search engine platforms don’t share a lot of their secrets, but Laura is someone who experiments with a lot of blogs of her own, so she has a really good idea of what is needed to rank and do well.

She enjoys learning, and it’s clear that she enjoys the teaching aspect of it too. She’s friendly, and encouraging and seems to get genuine joy out of seeing our success.

I started earning money during my third month. I started the Scale Your Travel Blog course in March 2023, and in June 2023 I earned my first dollars – it was about $11.30.

After that, I was earning hundreds of dollars per month ($300, and then it went up to $500). Starting in December 2023, I began earning over $1000 per month.

Not only do I now have a blog that is making me decent money, I have been able to network.

I’ve also learned about amazing opportunities through the group coaching calls and took advantage of other education that Laura arranges, such as her annual travel blogging summit.

Starting a travel blog from scratch can take time, but I needed success to come in as little time as possible because I was quitting a job and had two kids to look after.

Scale Your Travel Blog helped me fast-track the success of my blog so that I could make a career out of this in as little time as possible.

I would highly recommend Scale Your Travel Blog to a friend or a family member looking to make a living off blogging.

This was a huge investment on my part but after watching Laura’s free webinar I was convinced that she was the person I wanted to learn all about starting a travel blog from.

There were others but I just felt Scale Your Travel Blog was the right choice. So I paid for the course and went to work.

There’s a lot to take in. This course is very different from others because you get a lot of input from Laura and her staff.

The done-for-you keywords that they custom set up for me were great – it was something that I am going to use as my starting point.

As for the rest of the material I liked the affiliate marketing module because it shows you how to be successful in affiliate marketing with a travel blog.

I’d be targeting all the wrong keywords if I went on my own here so having the knowledge from the course probably saved me a lot of future headaches!

I also appreciate all the recent updates, such as the updated email marketing module and showing how to survive the HCU if your site was hit. Fortunately, mine is new so I can start fresh.

Most of all I appreciate the positive nature of Laura. She is a great coach and even greater motivator.

Her positive attitude helps especially when grinding every day and knowing that results will take a while.

I bought the course Scale Your Travel Blog back in late 2021. I was looking for new career options and came across Laura and her course.

I had been interested in blogging for some time but had no idea where to start.

With some extra money in my pocket from a part-time gig, I decided to take the leap and buy the course.

I knew nothing about blogging or passive income streams and I am not tech-savvy!

I watched the course in its entirety three times before I began implementing what I’ve learned.

Laura walks you through everything step by step (perfect for non-techy people like me) and updates the course regularly as new information is available.

The step-by-step lessons are easy to follow, especially for beginners who have no background in blogging.

I would often sit with my laptop open playing her course while following the steps on my desktop!

Additionally, Laura and her team update the course frequently with all of the latest information.

She and her team truly wish for everyone to succeed and go above and beyond to help you get there.

The members of the group have been so helpful and encouraging and never unkind to one another.

My site is new, and I am still in the “google sandbox” but I will keep trucking along and following her advice in the course until I arrive where I want to be!

I’ve purchased several blogging and affiliate marketing courses and this is by far the best.

The course has modules on things like SEO, email marketing, how to set up your WordPress template, gaining authority, getting backlinks, how to do keyword research, etc.

This is all great content that we have access to for a lifetime and Laura keeps it updated as things change. For example – the recent change in Google Search.

In addition to the course content, we also get several Q&As with Laura and other experts. There’s also a very active Facebook group and Laura often goes live with Q&As.

And one of the most valuable parts of the course is that you get 25 keywords you can rank for as well as the outlines for a certain number of posts. (Can’t remember the exact number.)

Since taking the course, I’ve seen my site domain authority jump from 17 to 24, watched my traffic increase, made a few hundred each month with affiliate marketing, and have ranked #1 in Google for several keywords.

While I know if I put more effort in my results would be even better, I love what I’ve gotten out of this class and I will keep relying on it as my blog grows.

I’m a member of Scale Your Travel Blog. I bought the course in November of 2021. The course focuses on SEO and using it to grow your blog. It was quite an investment for our small blog at the time, but I don’t regret it!

SYTB is more than a course – it gives you access to a community, as well as 1:1 coaching. From that community I have a place to ask for help on things ranging from tech to affiliates. I have also found other course creators who are up and coming and offering their content for low prices.

At first, I was skeptical as the course didn’t turn around our blog quickly. However, almost two years later, I’m still using it and the contacts that have come from it. I don’t know if I would have been able to maintain the momentum necessary to get our blog to a profitable stance without the support of this course and its community.

We started being profitable this year and are only seeing positive momentum. I purchased the “Scale Your Travel Blog” course in August to help me set up my blog and create impactful content. The course included online modules, resources, individual and group coaching and an online community where all participants can connect with each other. The topics of the course include WordPress, SEO strategies, affiliate links and marketing strategies and other essential blogging skills.

While my blog is not profitable yet, I am glad that I purchased the course, since it offers a guide on best practices and instruction. It was a considerable investment, but I do think that I have really benefited from it.

I have taken many blogging courses because even though I consider myself advanced, I feel there is always something new to learn. Each training, if well designed, helps you make that extra step toward your ultimate goals.

Laura and Mike’s course is excellent because it provides you with a great base of SEO knowledge and info on how to take blogging to a business level. However, the best part is that Laura is quite active in the Facebook group, answering questions and keeping the students on their toes.

Scale Your Travel Blog is the only course that provides helpful and actionable tips, such as blog post structure and how to update old posts. Also, they provide services such as keyword lists and post audits. Even though it is for a limited number of times, it’s still a great help. Last but not least, they are updating the course as I am writing this review.

So yes, among the beginner courses for travel blogging, SYTB is one of the two I would recommend. For more advanced bloggers, though, I still believe that a personal blog audit and one-on-one consulting would be way more effective because you would tackle your specific points of weakness.

I really appreciate how down-to-earth Laura is and how she creates each module in the course to be easily digestible. Blogging can be an overwhelming career choice and Laura makes it fun. She highlights what the essential aspects are and how to accomplish them. I just finished the course today and can’t wait to finally create my email list and opt-ins and get going!

The Facebook group has been an amazing resource and everyone in the group is very helpful. Having been determined to make my blog my full-time income, I know that this course is the answer to accomplishing that goal.

Laura, the blog owner and the instructor, is incredibly personable and super helpful! I had a one-on-one Zoom with her before I committed the money. She was very frank. Her course is about growing a travel blog, but she also mentioned that the same principles apply to bloggers in other niches.

Have I made any money yet? No. Although, I haven’t tried it yet.

Has my domain authority gone up? Yes. Even though it went from 2 to 6, that’s still a 200% improvement in 14 days.

It was time for a change and I needed to use my creativity and experience to share things with others. I had been meaning to start a REAL blog for years. I came across Scale Your Travel Blog and couldn’t resist signing up after taking a free intro on the content Laura offers. She is amazing!

I was hooked from the moment I started watching the first module. I couldn’t wait to get to the next lessons and modules because the information offered was so inspiring, exciting, and most importantly, realistic! I could grasp the content and was super motivated to start a successful blog.

The course has helped me achieve the following:

1. Create a successful monetized blog on WordPress utilizing proper SEO techniques to gain traffic quickly.

I started Scale Your Travel Blog last November and have seen nothing but improvement since. I’ve been able to grow my blog and have been able to start another blog which I’ve used the same skills for. If you’re thinking about starting travel blogging this course will be the best investment that will pay dividends in time saved, building a proper foundation, and setting you to launch.

I purchased the online Scale Your Travel Blog course in 2021 to learn SEO strategies. I was very cautious about spending hundreds of dollars on training for my blog which wasn’t making any money. After taking Mike and Laura’s free introductory mini-training and learning a lot, I decided to splurge on the course and I’m very glad I did it.

My favorite aspect is that they share step-by-step instructions for using Google Analytics and other free tools that I would have spent hours trying to learn on my own. My blog traffic jumped from a few thousand site visits to 20k within a few months after implementing what I learned in Scale Your Travel Blog.

My blog has started to see traffic after only a few short months. It is also on its way to becoming a profitable blog that I can use as a source of income as a full-time traveler.

The course creator, Laura, is a literal lifesaver. When I started following her free content last summer (2021), I had just left teaching. I was lost and without a clear career path.

Scale Your Travel Blog gave me the courage to start something new. I am 55 years old and have been a home health aid for years. In August 2022, after learning that people can make money from blogging, I decided to enroll.

So far, SYTB has been so amazing. When I get stuck, I go back and listen to Laura. She is so knowledgeable and takes the time to personally coach her students. I have also virtually attended the SYTB Summit in Denver, so I still listen to some of the speakers there.
