Shared Their Work on X, Then This Happened…

Sahil Vhora tweets

Last month, my tweet gained significant attention, achieving:

📈 48k+ views
👍 350+ likes
🔖 200+ bookmarks
👤 4k+ profile clicks

This has resulted in over 75 new project inquiries so far! It’s unbelievable!

Here’s the tweet in question, where he shares design work he did for a client whose startup got acquired.

75 leads from one tweet… that’s the power of “building in public” or “showing your work” 💪

Another example of this comes from Lera Clipwing, who tweeted a 20-second video and wrote…

Guys at @lmsqueezy have a great [podcast] but they don’t post short clips!

so we took their raw episode and added:

✨ effects & filters to make it catchy
🎵 sounds & zooms for dynamics
🎨 purple background & yellow captions to match the brand

To which the CEO of @lmsqueezy replied

This is so good! Can we hire you?

That led to a shoutout in a popular marketing newsletter (130k subs).

😍 Which resulted in even more exposure and inquiries for Lera…

I just had a call about our video production service with a person from a multi-billion dollar company.

Two great examples there of people creating big opportunities for themselves.

Sahil leveraged the success of a project he worked on, showed off how he contributed, and got a lot of inbound as a result.

Whereas Lera did some free and unsolicited work for someone with a big audience, posted it online, and reaped the rewards 🥳

It’s a good reminder that there are 2 main parts to success in business…

  1. Doing the thing
  2. Selling the thing

You can be great at #1 but that’s useless in isolation.

#2 is what gets people knocking on your door, eager to give you money 💰

With that in mind, ask yourself…

  • What work are you proud of?
  • What if you shared or talked about it online this week?
