How does Private Label Masters help you make money?

Tim Sanders’ Private Label Masters is an online course that aims to teach you how to build an ecommerce business with Amazon FBA.

There are multiple strategies you can use for selling on Amazon, and PLM teaches you specifically about private labeling. This is when you create your own branded products to sell on Amazon.

Who is Private Label Masters for?

According to my research, it seems both new and experienced Amazon sellers have benefitted from the Private Label Masters training.

However, it seems to be geared more towards beginners who have never sold on Amazon before.

Having spent 120+ hours researching Amazon FBA, I’ve come to believe that building a successful Amazon FBA business – even with the help of Tim Sanders’ training – is a tough task. Personally I would not recommend it if you’re new to working online.

Does Private Label Masters have a good reputation?

For the most part, yes.

Tim Sanders looks to be the real deal, running his own successful Amazon businesses and regularly revealing how much he’s earning.

For example, here’s a screenshot from Tim showing deposits into his bank account from Amazon…

I’ve also seen lots of positive reviews of Private Label Masters from Tim’s students, more than for most other Amazon FBA courses.

That said, PLM might be the most mysterious Amazon course I’ve come across, as it’s hard to find basic information about the course such as the price, refund policy, and exactly what you get when you sign up.

They require each prospective student to jump on an “enrollment call” before joining the program, and most of the complaints I’ve seen about PLM are related to this process, and the expense of the program once it is eventually revealed.

Are Private Label Masters students getting results?

Having gone through the PLM sales funnel and researching elsewhere online, I’ve seen many testimonials from Tim’s students.

As mentioned, it’s easier to find success stories for Private Label Masters than for many other Amazon FBA courses.

I also like that I’ve been able to find a decent amount of student success stories after 2018. Before 2018 seems to have been something of a golden age for Amazon FBA, but Tim’s teachings still appear to be effective in recent years.

How much does Private Label Masters cost?

Annoyingly, Private Label Masters does not have this information listed on their website. They require you to schedule an “enrollment call” to learn the price of the course.

According to multiple reports online, the standard price of enrollment is $5000. I haven’t seen any reports of a payment plan option.

(Jump to discount info below)

Keep in mind that you’ll also need some money to buy inventory and spend on advertising. The total amount you need depends on the product you’re planning to sell.

During enrollment for Private Label Masters, they ask that you have access to at least $6000 to start your business…

We only work with Students who have sufficient startup capital. To start an Amazon business requires capital for inventory, shipping, photos etc… Do you have access to a minimum of $6,000(usd)? (NOTE: This amount is based on hundreds of successful Students)

It’s unclear if that $6000 includes the cost of the Private Label Masters training itself.

However, I found one PLM student reporting that “you need another $5000-$8000 excluding the course cost” (source).

(That fits with my previous research. Many Amazon sellers I’ve corresponded with say you’ll need a budget of $5000 or more beyond the price of a course.)

The same student reports that six months after joining Private Label Masters, you are required to pay $49 per month to keep your access to the private PLM community.

Private Label Masters Discount?

I’ve seen multiple reports that there is a “fast action” discount offered during the enrollment call for Private Label Masters.

The discount is apparently for $1500, which would bring the cost for accessing PLM down to $3500.

Refund Policy

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any reliable info on the refund policy for Private Label Masters.

This is all the info available in the PLM Terms of Service:

Your purchase of a product or service or ticket to an event may or may not provide for any refund. Each specific product, service, event or course will specify its own refund policy (source).

If you end up jumping on an enrollment call for PLM, definitely ask them to clarify the refund policy before you join.

How is the training structured?

The training is arranged according to Tim’s “compound layering” framework, which covers 6 parts to selling on Amazon:

  • Finding the product
  • Sourcing the product
  • Shipping the product
  • Listing the product
  • Advertising the product
  • Launching the product

Private Label Masters aims to teach you how to master each of those parts. The training is delivered mostly in video format.

When you join PLM you also get access to weekly live Q&A video calls with Tim Sanders. These usually last 1-2 hours on a Tuesday and many students seem to get great value from them.

Here’s a similar live Q&A that Tim posted to YouTube:

Students also get access to a private Facebook group, where they can ask questions and interact with Tim and other PLM members.

Green Lights 🟢

Based on my research and submitted student reviews, here are several things to like about Private Label Masters:

  • Lots of student testimonials and success stories.
  • The training is comprehensive, practical and step-by-step.
  • Active and helpful private community.
  • Tim Sanders seems to be the real deal.
  • Weekly live Q&A calls with Tim.

Red Flags 🚩

A few things about Private Label Masters that might give you pause:

  • Very little info about the course cost, contents, refund policy, etc. available online. You must schedule an “enrollment call” to get all the info.
  • Numerous reports of people feeling pressured on the enrollment call to sign up ASAP.
  • After six months, you must pay $49/month to keep access to the private community.
  • On the expensive end, when compared to other Amazon FBA courses.
  • To give yourself a decent chance of success, students report that a large investment ($5,000+) is required beyond the price of the course.

Other things you should know

  • Again, there are key details about this training absent from the PLM website. If you do sign up for an enrollment call, be sure to ask for info such as how much investment is required beyond the price of the course (for software tools, inventory, PPC, etc) and what is their refund policy. Ideally, they should send you all these details in writing so there’s no confusion.

Should you join Private Label Masters?

Tim Sanders seems like a legitimately successful Amazon seller who has helped many others achieve success through his Private Label Masters training.

If you like Tim’s free YouTube videos and have at least $10,000 to invest in building your Amazon FBA business, then signing up for PLM is probably worth your while.

(Just make sure to ask about their refund policy before you commit!)

That said, for most people just getting into Amazon FBA, I’d recommend starting with some lower-priced courses (see below) to test the waters and see if it’s a good fit for you.

PLM is a great course – Tim is an amazing mentor

I’ve been part of the PLM (Private Label Masters) community for over three years now.

Before joining PLM, I tried selling private-label products multiple times and failed. The process was complicated, and I wasted a lot of money dealing with fake gurus on YouTube.

One day, Tim popped up on my Instagram feed. His personality captured me, and I felt he was a genuine guy who could teach me what I needed to succeed in this business model.

I joined PLM, but I was inactive for about a year and a half due to personal reasons. When I finally started taking the PLM course step by step, I learned so much.

I realized how much information I was missing, and PLM made it easy to fill those gaps. The course is broken down into multiple sections, each with subcategories, explaining everything you need to succeed.

If I sat here and told you it’s easy and that within a month or two you’ll be making millions, that would be a lie. Tim provides the foundation needed to create a lifelong business.

The concept has multiple layers: product research, product discovery, sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, shipping, launching, advertising, and much more.

The course walks you through every step. If you’re still confused, there are multiple live streams with homegrown coaches who are making six or seven figures per year on Amazon.

You can ask them questions, bounce ideas off them, or simply learn from their journey and expertise—they will help you every step of the way. We are one big family that supports each other.

Besides the coaches, there are many members ready to help you at any time of the day, as students are from all over the world. Tim himself hosts a livestream every Tuesday.

He is the nicest and most humble person I have ever met. He answers all your questions, gives advice, and, on top of all that, you get to rub shoulders with an eight-figure Amazon seller, which is priceless in my opinion.

My dream has been to live the digital nomad lifestyle and travel the world, and this year, I was able to achieve that.

Currently, I have 10 successful products, and I should finish the year with around $600k in sales.

I’m a PLM student, and I’m proof that if you follow the course closely, the process works. I just wish I had found out about PLM sooner.

Pros and Cons

  • The course is broken down step by step-easy to follow, and if you have questions, the community, coaches, and Tim himself are there to help.
  • Weekly livestreams with six or seven-figure coaches.
  • An amazing community that will cheer you on and help you every single step of the way.
  • Honestly, I have nothing bad to say… I’m very happy and grateful that I found them.

The course is good but it's too late to make money on Amazon

I don’t have concerns with the content of this course.

It’s actually quite good and has some things you won’t find anywhere else, but there’s nothing exceptional about the training.

In fact, it’s pretty straightforward. The training is detailed, but in most cases doesn’t get into enough detail to show you how to be profitable on TODAY’s Amazon, which as everyone knows is extremely oversaturated and cutthroat competitive.

The main issues of this course are that they sugarcoat things and pretend that Amazon isn’t really much more difficult to make money on than it was years ago.

This is completely false. You are competing with people with millions of dollars and drop shippers from other countries that don’t have to pay import tariffs, which are prohibitive in many cases.

The course doesn’t even address Tariffs at all, which was one of the major reasons I lost money.

And it doesn’t like to point out negative things about Amazon, like the fact that it will make you split shipments into three ports so that you have to spend thousands more on logistics than you used to.

But worst of all, the huge price tag and ongoing monthly payment aren’t worth the training you will receive. I recommend going to YouTube instead.

Pros and Cons

  • Good community.
  • Moderators are helpful for answering questions.
  • Good for troubleshooting errors and issues with Amazon.
  • Training isn’t that useful.
  • They aren’t honest about the difficulties in selling on Amazon post 2020.
  • The advice is very hard to follow because Amazon is so oversaturated. There is almost no product that will work.

Great content, covering every stage of the FBA process

I enrolled in Tim Sanders’ Private Label Amazon course and it helped me to successfully launch my private label brand in the early learning children’s niche.

Within just 7 days, I achieved top results for my main keywords and maintained this ranking consistently.

I replicated the process for all subsequent product launches, contributing to the expansion of my brand.

The content depth was impressive, covering every stage of the FBA process, from product research to sourcing to unique marketing strategies.

The instructor demonstrated exceptional expertise, providing clear insights and real-world examples that made complex concepts easy to grasp.

The course stayed current with the latest trends and changes in the Amazon marketplace, ensuring its relevance.

The focus on practical skills like listing optimization and effective marketing strategies made it a valuable investment for anyone looking to succeed in the competitive world of FBA.

Totally Worth It

I am new to this course but I am not new to sales. I was also a seller on Amazon and familiar with it to a point. Tim’s course has opened my eyes to SO MUCH MORE. I can not say enough about this program and the information Tim shares.

It is very easy to follow and easy to go back and re-watch videos. There is a searchable help section, weekly and bi-weekly get-togethers via Zoom as well. Very pleased with my decision to join PLM.

Pros and Cons

  • Nice flow to the information.
  • I believe Tim is very open and shares a lot of knowledge with us.
  • It is challenging but totally doable!

The best FBA course for serious FBA sellers

Tim is an excellent teacher and unlike many other top sellers, he doesn’t show off for his own gain. He is genuine and wants every student to succeed, whatever their success looks like.

It’s not necessary to achieve a seven-figure FBA business to earn very good money – one product can earn an average US salary a year – but it’s made easier by following his course.

The PPC module is the BEST by far and can really help with scaling growth after the initial launch phase has passed.

This is not an easy business to get into nowadays but it’s made easier by the easy-to-follow video courses that go at the students’ pace. There’s no rush!

Pros and Cons

  • High-quality short videos.
  • PPC.
  • Covers everything from start to finish (including selling your brand).
  • Facebook group is only free for six months. It's expensive to continue when just starting out.
  • Tim's livestreams are limited to those in the Facebook group.
  • His photographer, graphic designer, and copywriter get booked QUICKLY and there are limited alternatives and this can delay a launch. There should be a pool of pros available for students to access.

1 Questions & Answers

  1. I signed up for this then shortly thereafter my father-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer.

I left for the UK to see him through hospice. Shortly thereafter, my house burned down in the LA fires.

I asked them to please make an exception and refund me (they could see I hadn’t started the course).

They literally just ignored my messages, yet continued to hit me up for a $40/mo pro subscription. This after 5k!!

PLM was the only company that completely ignored those affected by the fires. Everyone contributed, and so many companies and people did SO much to help, but they couldn’t be bothered.

I don’t like their ethos – lack of compassion.
