Found this cool site that allows tour guides around the world to offer livestreamed tours that anyone can join for free. If you like the tour, you can give them a tip.
I went on a tour of a mosque in Istanbul, saw the old city of Sibiu, Romania, and saw a bit of Montenegro as well.
Really nice site to do some “travel” from your couch and get inspiration, while helping support tour guides that have been out of work for so long!
As I’m writing this I’ve got a tour of Shanghai 🇨🇳 going in the background, and 164 other people are tuned in live.
I’ve yet to see reports from tour guides revealing how much money they earn from the site, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s comparable to how much they made doing the same tours pre-COVID.
