This is the ultimate Blog by Number review.
Blog by Number is a course by Suzi and John Whitford. You may know Suzi from her blogs Start a Mom Blog and Freedom By Number.
My team and I signed up for the training and researched it thoroughly. You’ll find our insights below.

If you’re eager to learn…
Then definitely keep reading.
Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.
I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.
Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.
I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.
Blog by Number aims to help you build and grow a blog that gets tons of traffic from Google and other search engines.
The training mentions 83 ways of making money from a blog, but they all seem to fall under five main groups.
These are…
As the sales page puts it…
Need ideas to make money with your blog? Here are over 80 different ways you can monetize your blog!
There are ideas for digital products, services, affiliates or products!
The Blog by Number course shows you how to make money from your blog from day one through different methods.
IMO, the final sentence above can be misleading. Although possible, it’s extremely unlikely to make money from a blog that quickly.
Blog by Number mainly sells itself as a platform for moms eager to take up blogging…
Are you a busy mom but want to start a blog?
This course is for you.
It is for those who only have an hour here or there to work on a side hobby.
It is for moms who want to share their voice with the world but are too fearful to start a blog because it is too ‘technical’ and takes too much time.
I’ve put all the resources you’ll need in the course to start your successful blog!
Having gone through the training myself, I can say that it’ll likely be of use to non-moms too. Despite Suzi’s marketing, I didn’t find anything about Blog by Number that limits it to moms.
For the most part, yes.
During my research of Suzi Whitford and Blog by Number, I found far more praise than criticism for the training and its creator.
Suzi owns multiple blogs. The main two of which look to be doing well according to Ahrefs (especially Start a Mom Blog)…
The only thing that gives me pause is that I didn’t find many testimonials for Suzi’s Blog by Number training.
I expected to find quite a few since “almost 100,000” people have apparently downloaded her free course about starting a blog. And Suzi also has more than 20k YouTube subscribers and over 40k Pinterest followers.
With such a big audience, I’m surprised not to see more reports from people who have signed up to her premium training.
Regardless, below is a video from Suzi’s YouTube channel so you can get a feel for her style…
It’s complicated.
As I’ve already mentioned, I only found a few testimonials for the training, all on the sales page.
For example…
The above three testimonials are the only ones I’ve seen that report tangible results, rather than offering empty platitudes.
For a course produced by such a popular blogger, and which I believe has sold quite well, I would have expected to see many more testimonials like the above.
Unfortunately, such reports seem to be rare for students of Blog by Number.
The listed price for Blog by Number is $147.
Alternatively, you can buy the upgraded Blog Building Bundle for $197.
The bundle includes extras such as…
After you buy, you will be offered some upsells.
If you opted for the $147 package, you’ll first be offered an upsell for the Blog Building Bundle for an extra $48 (so $195 total).
Even though the upsell page claims you’re getting it for 90% off, it seems like it’s only $2 cheaper this way than if you’d opted for it in the very beginning. Having noticed this, I can’t help but question the course’s marketing and its wording 😕
Then there are two more upsells…
Finally, you’ll need to set aside some extra money for hosting. Using the hosting John recommends within the training, it will apparently cost you $11/month to host your blog.
After looking everywhere, I still haven’t found a discount or coupon code.
There is a place to enter a discount code on the Blog by Number checkout, but it looks like you’ll have to pay the full price if you want access.
Blog by Number does not give refunds.
The official word…
Due to the nature of the products, all sales of products and/or services on this website are final. No refunds will be issued. All digital content will be released at once.
We truly believe in giving more than receiving and each of our products and services is designed by keeping this core principle in mind.
The prices are intentionally kept reasonably low in price as compared to market value to give you the tools and information you need at an affordable price.
I believe this policy is flawed considering many digital products out there still offer a 30-day guarantee.
Here’s what the training looks like once you’re logged in…
The core training is split up into 12 main modules. There are also 3 introductory modules, as well as an ending module and 2 bonus modules.
Most of the lessons seem to be in video format, although some of them only have text. The videos look well-produced and, for the most part, are short and concise.
Although some of the videos mainly feature Suzi talking into the camera, I found the training fairly comprehensive, especially considering the price tag.
The training touches upon subjects such as email, Facebook, and Pinterest marketing, legal pages, SEO, and design. There are also loads of bonuses, some of which act as a follow-up for the lessons you’ll find inside.
The biggest issue with Blog by Number IMO is the lack of a private community and support. That may also be why the training is so affordably priced. Most other (more expensive) blogging courses I’ve seen do at least have a private forum for students where they can ask for help and compare notes.
There are also some navigation issues that I found irritating. For example, you can’t even see the title of the lesson you’re on except in a small sidebar to the left, and it also doesn’t scroll down to show you where you’re at in the training.
Finally, going back to a specific lesson looks like quite the challenge. There’s no search function within the training, and the videos don’t have any chapter markings.
Here are a few things to like about Blog by Number…
A few things about Blog by Number that might give you pause…
You’ll get free updates to this version of the course. If we relaunch a new version, you’ll get a big discount as an existing student to upgrade.
Despite certain claims that Blog by Number makes, you’ll be disappointed if you’re looking for a quick way to make money online.
However, if you’re looking to learn how to set up your blog without breaking the bank, Blog by Number seems like a solid choice.
Just keep in mind that you’re pretty much on your own with the course materials after you sign up, as BBN doesn’t come with a private community or any other form of support.
If you’re already achieving noticeable results with your blog, Blog by Number may come off as basic to you. I wouldn’t consider it a great choice for experienced bloggers.
Also, given the training’s no-refund policy, I’d first recommend checking Suzi’s free courses if you’re on the fence about BBN and blogging in general.
