Dan and Ian from the Tropical MBA Podcast discussed that article last week and provided some much-needed nuance, though their conclusion is essentially the same: be wary of dropshipping as a business opportunity.
However, as Dan pointed out, dropshipping ain’t the only business opportunity to be wary of:
If there is a lot of guru-ized information and legible courses around the specific kind of business you want to start, it might not be a great business opportunity, it might be low margin, it might be high competition.
True that. What got me nervous about dropshipping initially was seeing how many newbie entrepreneurs were flocking to it back in 2018 🏃♂️
Reminded me of that thing Mark Twain supposedly said:
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
