Low-Key Developer Earning $60,000/Month From 2 Apps

  • $60,000 monthly revenue from 2 apps

Noah Kagan asked on Twitter…

If you had to create a $20k MRR business in 24 hours, what kind of business would you start?

Ismael Diaby responded with lots of great ideas and examples 😎

(If you’re wondering how his response is so long, it’s because Twitter Blue users can now tweet up to 4000 characters.)

One example from Ismael…

Found this AirPod Finder app, making $13k/ month with no advertisements. They’re selling the app for $400K so was able to see their revenue. Team of 2.

The app simply helps you find your AirPod. It’s more accurate than the find my iPhone native app.

I couldn’t find out for sure which app he was referring to, but this one called Wunderfind has almost 100,000 ratings on the Apple App Store 🤩

That app was created in 2019 by Hendrik Folkerts, who looks like a young Bill Gates.

He has several other apps for sale, including one called Printer App: Print & Scan PDF.

All his apps are pretty simple, and apparently the two I’ve mentioned are pulling in $60,000 per month in revenue 🤯

Unclear if Hendrik is using ads to get so many downloads and generate so much revenue, but I suspect it’s mostly organic.

His main marketing “hack” seems to be naming his apps according to what people are likely to type into the search bar in the app store.

Hendrik keeps a low profile. He’s on Twitter and LinkedIn but rarely posts anything 🤫

Always nice to see someone crushing it online without a big following.

Reminds me of that Bill Murray quote…

I always want to say to people who want to be rich and famous: ‘try being rich first’. See if that doesn’t cover most of it. There’s not much downside to being rich, other than paying taxes and having your relatives ask you for money. But when you become famous, you end up with a 24-hour job.
