Did you catch the playoff game between the Chargers and Jaguars last weekend? 🏈
14-minute game highlights here.
(Spoiler alert: I’m going to reveal the outcome below.)
It was the first career playoff game for 23-year-old Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He went out and threw four interceptions in the first half and his team was down 0-27 right before halftime.
They came back and won the game with a field goal right as time expired 🤯
At the post-game press conference, Lawrence talked about his mindset for overcoming “definitely the worst half of my football life”…
I told the guys in the huddle there’s no 27 point plays, it’s going to be one play at a time. And that’s what it took: one play at a time all the way down the field just again and again and again.
One play at a time, one day at a time, one pitch at a time… whatever you’re trying to achieve, break it down and tackle it in small chunks. Otherwise it’s real easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless.
Lawrence also referenced the classic 2-minute Jocko Willink video: Jocko Motivation “GOOD”…
The whole team had watched that video months prior. A teammate came over to Lawrence after he threw yet another interception in the first half and told him, “good.” 😂
