Back in 2017, Rachel Downey was a new mom with a background in sales and marketing.

An acquaintance asked her to help promote his podcast 🎙 and she took the gig mainly for the flexible hours.

At the time of sale, Share Your Genius was bringing in about $500,000 in annual revenue, serving about 30 clients. They accomplished that with just three full-time employees, including the founder, as well as some contractors.

I love that Rachel started out simply by helping a friend with their new podcast.

Yeah, she had a background in sales and marketing, which surely gave her an edge promoting a podcast. But it’s the type of gig many people wouldn’t get excited about.

And yet it turned into a $500,000 per year business 🤑
