$1 million in annual recurring revenue is the latest milestone for Plausible Analytics, an open-source alternative to Google Analytics.

Their journey so far:

• $0 to $400 MRR in 12 months
• $400 to $10k MRR in 9 months
• $10k to $41.6k MRR in 10 months
• $41.6k to $83.3k MRR in 8 months

They are a team of four, now hiring a remote product engineer.

Amazing to me that they are doing so well when they have a giant and well-known competitor that people can use for free.

So they basically identified Google Analytics as their enemy and stirred up some controversy. In some circles, this is known as beef marketing.
