I’ve done this several times myself, and I highly recommend that you try it if you’re actively looking for jobs on Upwork. 

You’d post a small job, something you would like to get hired for yourself. For example, if you’re a graphic designer, hire someone to design a simple logo or maybe a banner ad.

Once the applications start rolling in, you’ll quickly learn what your competitors on Upwork are doing to stand out (or not). Then you can emulate the approach of the best applicants in your own pitches 😎

Back when I coached aspiring freelancers, I used to recommend they do this. Everyone who tried it said it was a game-changer.
