Positivity Podcaster Earning $5200/Month

Henry G started a podcast back in February 2018 🎙

He was off and on with it for a while, then relaunched it as The Positive Mindset Podcast in March 2020.

He’s done several hundred episodes overall, usually uploading a new 10-15 minute episode every weekday. All time, the podcast now has about 5 million downloads 📈

In a recent video, Henry talks about monetizing his podcast with Spotify for Podcasters (formerly Anchor)…

I’m making around $5000 [per month] and that’s just from Spotify for Podcasters. I still have sponsorships outside of that [as well].

Later in the video he says the number is actually about $5200 per month 🤑

You can learn more about Spotify for Podcasters here. The program basically makes it easy to have ads on your podcast, and they also provide some other monetization options.

But to use Spotify for Podcasters your podcast has to be hosted on Spotify and most of the monetization options are only available for US podcasters right now 🇺🇸

Also worth noting that it took a lot of work for Henry to get to $5000/month.

He has a video from January 2022 – almost 2 years after he relaunched his podcast – where he showed his total ad earnings to be only $13,418 up to that point…

He emphasizes again there that those ads were NOT his only source of revenue from the podcast, but I suspect they were the bulk of it.

I created 2793 minutes of new content so far this year and that’s 99% more than creators in my category… I do an episode five days a week… 

Five days a week for a whole year… imagine how good you will be if you committed to your podcast or your show every day, or five days a week for a year, or two years, or three years. You would get so much better…

It’s really about consistency and not needing [to see] results right away. If you want to hit it big within the first year, podcasting is probably not for you.

I’d say the same applies to pretty much every kind of business.

Find something you’re happy to stick with for the long haul, and you’ll have a big advantage 💪
