Grzegorz Niedziela is an ethical hacker.
In a recent video, he shares how much money he made in his first year of finding and reporting security vulnerabilities for companies like Facebook, Google and Stripe…
(This is known as bug bounty, and anyone can try it via sites like HackerOne.)
In total, Grzegorz spent 441 hours and earned $19,501 🤑
That works out to about $44 per hour.
Grzegorz notes at the end of the video…
To be honest, I think I could make more by being employed or by focusing on freelance pentests.
(Pentests = penetration testing)
Likely the highlight of Grzegorz’s year was teaming up with David Schütz in Budapest to hack Facebook…
I didn’t believe that we can find a bug in Facebook in one day. I was still happy to just hack with David, spend time with him and simply learn. But to my surprise, we did find a bug for which Facebook later paid us $5,000.
I was really happy about it, especially that Facebook is just one of these companies that you want to hack at some point of your career.
Obviously you need to have some high-level hacking skills to do something like this, but HackerOne has a free class for web security to get you started.
Another video I found on YouTube…
First comment on that video…
LOL.. I got $100 for this same Vulnerability after watching your video😁😁😍🤩
