How She Went From $10/hour To 6 Figures

  • Deya Aliaga Kuhnle

  • Freelancer and Course Creator
  • $100,000+ annual revenue

Deya Aliaga Kuhnle has a YouTube channel where she talks about two things:

  • Going from $10/hr to 6 Figures as a Freelancer 📈
  • Going from a 6-figure Freelancer to a 6-figure Course Creator

I asked Deya via email which freelance service she started off with and she replied…

I started off offering absolutely everything and anything (admin help, content assistance, voice overs, translations, transcription). I had no niche because I had 0 work experience and no clue what I was doing.

It was completely unstrategic but I’m really happy I started out that way. I actually tell most beginners not to hyper niche in the beginning because it’s more important to find out what you like/don’t like before you begin getting strategic.

Deya’s very first client needed help making a book layout; more about that job in this video…

In another video, Deya breaks down where her 41 freelance clients came from 👇

  • 61% from freelance platforms
  • 27% from Facebook groups
  • 7.5% from referrals
  • 2.5% from cold pitching

The main freelance platform Deya used was Upwork…

I got off Upwork as soon as I possibly could, but I credit it greatly for getting me started with freelancing when I had no network, no connections and no clue where to find clients. I talk about how I found my first client on Upwork in this video…

A recent video from Deya’s channel: why 90% of freelancers struggle with landing clients 👇
