$9000/Month Food Blogger (With A Full-Time Job)

Shweta Garg runs a food blog called Masala and Chai ☕️

According to a recent interview, Shweta was “more of a Instagram Restaurant Blogger back in maybe 2018… I did not have a website.”

She registered her domain in February 2021 and started blogging. 18 months later, her blog pulled in $9000 in a single month, mostly via display ads 🤑

Crazy thing is, Shweta has built her blog business while holding down a full-time job as a team lead of about 15 people at a large consulting firm (very different work from blogging).

There are so many times where I have gone to my friends and been like, “You know what? I know today is a Saturday, but I’ve set it aside for a blog day. I’ve already went and bought my groceries. I hope you understand. If you want to come over and watch me, hang out with me, watch TV while I do it,” whatever it is, they truly will understand. So setting these business hours for yourself, it also helps you avoid burnout.
