About the Author
Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.
I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.
Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 4 years (through 2023) I’ve earned $842,000 from my laptop.
I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.
The Best Multi-Level Marketing Course?
We’re on a mission to properly rate and review all the top MLM courses based on our own in-depth research plus feedback from verified students.
EYH Academy is one of the better courses we’ve seen in this category…

How does EYH Academy help you make money?
EYH Academy aims to help you make money by teaching how to promote expensive water alkalinization machines made by an MLM company called Enagic.
Japan-based Enagic manufactures and sells alkaline ionizers and water filtration machines.
One of their products…
And to sell their products and earn commissions, you first need to buy one yourself.
Since it’s a multi-level marketing setup – more on that below – a large part of the process involves convincing other people to sign up and sell the water filters.
Screenshot of a step from their “8 point compensation plan”…
You can earn a percentage of direct sales you make and a cut from the “network” signed up below you.
Enagic is a member of the Direct Sellers Association, or DSA.org, a legitimate trade association in the United States. DSA companies market products and services directly to consumers through an independent, entrepreneurial salesforce.
However, it’s worth noting that Enagic is also considered to be a multi-level marketing (MLM) company by the USA’s Federal Trade Commission…
MLM, or network marketing, is notoriously controversial. Some describe it as “cult-like” and vow to protect people from it.
For example, here’s an anti-MLM Reddit community with 805,000+ members…
This is because the emphasis is often placed on recruiting people to join rather than selling the actual product.
Additionally, MLMs tend to have a very low success rate, as detailed here 😔
Who is EYH Academy for?
EYH seems to target people who are…
- Unhappy with their 9-5 job
- Willing to be outgoing on social media and in person
- Dedicated to working hard at something over a long period
The official word from the sales page…
- 70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)
Do Brent and Molly Orwell have a good reputation?
It’s complicated.
A bunch of their students seem to have positive things to say about them.
For example, here’s a comment on Brent’s FB page…
And here’s a person on Reddit backing up the course creators…
However, here are a couple of anti-MLMers commenting about EYH Academy…
So it seems Brent and Molly’s students support them, whereas people opposed to MLMs warn others to stay away.
Below is a video from Brent and Molly’s YouTube channel so you can get a feel for their style…
Are students of Expand Your Horizons getting results?
It’s easy to find people praising EYH Academy, but I found little proof of students actually earning money from the program.
Even one of their best testimonials – found on Trustpilot – doesn’t give any specifics…
There are a few students who allegedly achieved “6A” status.
From what I understand, that means they’ve generated approximately $220k in revenue.
Image from compensation plan video…
But I’m not sure about that figure, as I found the product pricing to be rather complicated.
From what I’ve seen, most student success stories mention that the main thing they got from the course was a positive mindset shift.
So, while students of EYH Academy may be getting results by following the training, I haven’t seen much significant evidence of that.
How much does EYH Academy cost?
Monthly access to EYH Academy is $129 AUD, roughly equivalent to $85 USD per month at the time of this writing.
They offer a 4-day free trial which grants you access to 1 of 9 core training courses.
The suggested investment to get started is $10,200 AUD (about $6,800 USD).
Some of that is repaid via commissions. From what I understand, you get back about $365, as well as certain benefits related to your level within the program.
And sure, as they say in the above image, $10,200 AUD isn’t a lot of money compared to starting a brick and mortar business. But it is a lot of money to start an online business IMO.
EYH Academy Discount?
I’ve searched around for a discount or coupon code but have yet to find mention of one anywhere, and there’s no place to enter a discount code on the Expand Your Horizons checkout.
So the full price must be paid for access.
Refund Policy
There is a strict no-refund policy.
The official word…
We DO NOT issue refunds. It is up to you as a MEMBER to make sure your payment is canceled if you no longer wish to be a part of this academy. YOU can do this by emailing us at [email protected] with your name, email address, the name of your referrer and reason for cancellation.
****Under NO circumstances do we issue refunds****
Your membership is monthly so please ensure you are aware of the monthly renewal date each month to avoid any issues on your end.
I’m not convinced this policy is effective considering many membership subscriptions out there offer refunds.
How is EYH Academy structured?
Here’s what the training looks like once you’re logged in to the free trial…
There are a total of 9 courses like this.
Here’s what the modules look like within the free trial…
The material is easy to navigate using the search function. Each lesson is clearly labeled.
Topics include social media selling, paid advertising, personal development, and content creation.
You’ll also learn skills related to creating your website and copywriting.
The focus is on selling products online, not to friends and family.
And there’s a Facebook group for EYH Academy that seems fairly active…
Green Lights 🟢
Some positive points for EYH Academy…
- Many students seem to love the sense of community.
- 4-day (limited) free trial.
- Training offered for the monthly subscription seems decent.
Red Flags 🚩
A few things to be wary of regarding EYH Academy…
- Lack of significant success stories from students.
- Recurring monthly expense to keep access to the training.
- No refunds.
- The FTC considers Enagic to be an MLM.
Other things you should know
- The free trial only gives access to the free trial course. It explains the basics of the product, commission structure, mindset, and student interviews. An additional 8 locked courses are the bulk of the training.
- In Section 4 (Begin Here) they suggest not to proceed to Section 6 (Scale Here) for four months. Brent and Molly suggest this to minimize overwhelm with the many ways to build a business. But be aware that if you wait those four months, you will still be paying the monthly membership fee unless you cancel.
Should you join EYH Academy?
Personally, I’d be hesitant to join this course given all the above.
While Brent and Molly insist that this business model is “direct selling” rather than multi-level marketing, the FTC is quite clear that they consider Enagic to be an MLM.
I simply don’t believe MLM is a worthwhile business venture. And I wouldn’t want to invest $1000’s in a product just so I can sell it to other people and (hopefully) earn commissions.
So while there is some valuable internet marketing training in EYH Academy, in my opinion there are much better courses to help you earn a living online.
